Led Zeppelin-A legend or What?

- this word "overrated" (which i see a lot at KMC) doesnt mean anything. Rated by whom? We have no consensus because some people think they suck and some think they are as gods. Overrated just means that you think some people like them more than they should - but it's still subjective, they are only considered overrated by you so it's not a value judgement of any kind.

It dont mean squat.

What we mean by "overrated" is that quite a few people seem to think LZ are the greatest band ever, which is not true. Another example is Nirvana, who are idolized to the point of stupidity by the mainstream media, especially the good folks at the company that owns MTV/VH1.

And nobody is claiming that this is the absolute truth, we are fully aware of the fact that our thoughts are opinions only. As are yours.

Didnt mean to single you out - I just keep seeing "overrated" said about music and movies here and i finally snapped.

Yes Nirv and Zep and POTC etc etc are overrated, but that has no reflection on their actual worth. Which in the case of Zep is - well personally i think they are a little overrated.

Led Zeppelin are gods yeah,but that doesnt mean i think they're the ONLY gods around. Nirvana is up there too and Ozzy still ROX MY SOX.

Ozzy only made four good albums and that was when he was in Black Sabbath.

Nirvana isn't in the same pantheon as Sabbath

Ozzy and Nirvana really aren't all that great. If we're going to get into gods... Tool and Trent Reznor are gods.

Led Zeppelin is way overrated. Mainly because Jimmy Page was a ****ing plagiarist. The Who owns the shit outta them
