Has anyone seen this sitcom about a sociopathic MP? Did it make the top fifty sitcoms? Alot of inferior sitcom's did 😬

I had three VHS tapes of it at one time; it was pretty funny, especially since Rik Mayall played the lead. I liked how Piers was his foil, but I wasn't too crazy about the transsexual character. Whatever happened in subsequent seasons? Was there more than one season?
