Why do girls wear thongs?

i try to avoid thongs, just cos regular underwear is more comfy, but if there is a back-pocket-less pair of pants i want to wear, then yeah i wear one. but usually i don't, i like the real low boy cut short underwear!!!!i just don't like my bare butt rubbing up against jeans or something else.......
