no excuse, she chooses to use it every blue moon when she wants, and if she would use it more often she wouldn't have a reason to be scared b/c she's powerful...when she wants to be. I'm annoyed.

she can't fight the monsters

I recall one episode where she used her powers to form a giant sand wall to hold back the monsters. I recall another where she made a copy of herself to get the monsters to follow it and get away. Another where she made the ground crumble away to the monsters couldn't follow them any further.

She can use her powers against the monsters.

but if she dies, they're all screwed. so she has to stay away from really dangerous situations

now that she has a human body, she wouldn't die would she?

But I do realize now that if she lost enough life points and was sent out of lyoko she wouldn't be able to deactivate the towers, maybe that's what you mean.
