And the award for best psychotic episode goes to.....

Psycho

I have seen all of these official threads for all these famous horror series such as Halloween and Friday the 13th(which I am a big fan of),but I am surprised that this series has not gotten it's own thread yet. This is,in my opinion of course(i'm not a pompous and ignorant ******* who goes around forcing his opinions on people constantly),the best horror series of all time.
With the exception of the 1998 remake, every installment of the series was a horror classic.
Hopefully,BackFire will make this the official thread for the series, but then again,i'm certainly not telling a mod how to do his job. That would be me being a pompous *******,which I am not as I stated previously.
So feel free to discuss these incredible pieces of horror cinema and debate on which is the best.
I personally feel that Psycho 3 was the best.
So all that said, discuss amongst yourselves and remember

ANTHONY PERKINS IS A HORROR MOVIE GOD!

Ouch! Well said! I gotta go with the original, though the re-make was...shall we say...interesting. I've been wanting to watch the two of them side-by-side, if I ever get the gumption to put my two TVs next to each other and do so.

Now...what was it about part III that won you over? I didn't care for any of the sequels, because they didn't seem to be made for any purpose other than to cash in on the success of the original (which defines most of the other series in the genre). I remember seeing one "Psycho" made-for-TV movie that didn't feature Anthony Perkins much (if at all); it turned out to be that the Bates motel was haunted by teenagers who had killed themselves over the years in the motel's rooms. It ended with a super-sappy speech by one of the "Fonzie"-clad teens who noted: "Killing yourself stinks!"

I have to see that movie you were talking about.I never heard of it!Do you know what it was called?

I loved Psycho 3 because of 3 things:

1.Anthony Perkins made a great directorial debut.
2.Anthony Perkins, just like he did in all the movies, really pesonifies insanity as Norman Bates.
3.{spoiler!!!!!} Norman finally confronts Mother. {spoiler!!!}

Although it is undeniable that the original Psycho is the greatest.

i didn't mind the origonal untill i had to watch it time and time again for my Media class. i used to respect Alfred Hitchcock, and his movies, then i read and learned about him, now i think hes a pompous ****, and i dont like Psycho anymore. FYI, the woman who played Marion died the other day. bummer

Indeed,she will be missed.

The original Psycho is amazing.

Indeed,she will be missed.

Not if Norman disposes of the body carefully. 😈

I don't remember the name of that show, slasher, just that it had the "Psycho" name attached to it.

I agree that the first Psycho is and always will be one of the greatest horror movies of all time.

The Original one is good but I liked the remake

well the remake wqas precticly shot for shot of the origonal

Yeah,I liked Vince Vaughn and all,but he doesn't have the norman look.

Has to be the original, if not because of how well it still stands up today, then simply because of the sheer impact it had on the movie industry at the time that shower scene is legend.

I think Psycho 2 and 3 are underrated films, Perkins performance in both is very strong.

I have seen the remake 3 times, and I love it, but for me the Psycho 3 was the best

reeee remake? shit one of the worst remakes ever if not THE worst

I just watched Psycho 3,perkins is truly the best horror movie actor there ver was,if not the best.IMO of course.

To be honest I didnt like any of them.

Norman Bates should have been executed! 😠

WTF?

May be wrong, but I think the made for tv movie roundisfunny was referring to is the one made in 1987 called "Bates Motel". Unfortunately (for anyone that really wants to see this), it does not appear to be available any longer on vhs.

That sucks.....
I don't know if i would have liked it though.....
