There's alot of Wolverine back story that's not shown in the movies. They only hint at some of what happened to him in when he was part of the weapon x stuff. Writers have been hinting for a while that he's around 100 yrs old or so. That could just be RUMINT or deliberate misinformation, but the point is, it's pretty unlikely they'll be rehashing stuff from the other movies.

Young Cyke in Wolverine = crap
Yes, Cyke is going to make a cameo in the movie.....so This movie is a about a bunch of cameos and no story? sounds like X-3 to me.

I googled that guy and he's a kid, I take it they're just doing a cameo with a young gambit?
I don't mind. He looks like a great for Gambit. Plus, they have to make him a bit younger to make the Gambit/Rogue relationship work. This way, he and Bobby could even have a small rivalry because of a love triangle for Rogue. I like the idea.
EDIT:
I just noticed something. Isn't he the same guy who did Warren Peace in Sky High?
EDIT AGAIN: Nevermind. That was a dude named Steven Trait.
God, they look just like eachother besides the hair! Cooincidentally, they were together in "The Covenant".

They don't NEED to make him younger; Gambit was originally quite a bit older than rogue, it was along the lines of the Rogue/Magneto, Kitty/Pete or Kitty/Colossus, and other similar romantic story lines. Xmen writers have a history of pairing young girls with older men...Hmmm a bunch of middle-aged men recreating a teen-aged fantasy? I'm sure the trend is much more sophisticated than all that.
Anyway, with an influx of new writers, that tendency is no-longer as prominent. Females are usually mated with peers in their own age groups. This might also mirror a sociological shift that has taken place in the US of the past 50 years, where we see couples being much closer in age than was previously the norm.
Um...what was my point???? Oh yeah, Gambit should be noticeably 'too old' for rogue, but A) to fit the expected time line of the movie he'd have to be a kid to be running into a pre-Xmen Logan; B) the movies are more for the kiddies than those of us who grew up with the Xmen comics, so he'll be younger to appeal to the younger crowd; and C)...to be honest this guy has next to no professional experience, he a pretty face that probably comes cheap and can pull off a not completely horrendous Cajun accent. (or maybe he's even cheaper than that and we'll all just have to suffer).
PS pardon my flagrant - and probably incorrect- use of the ';'; I just took a grammar course and felt the need to practice.
