I agree with you to an extent.
But I think they did the best they could with Sabrethooth in the first film.
I mean considering all the characters they had to work with at the time.And Remember,they didn't even know if their would be an X Men sequel for sure while making the first one,so I think it was just a case of him being a character that was right to put in the film.
I would have liked to have seem him done better in the first film as well,but for what it was I think it was alright.

i think you're forgetting the first X-men movie, Sabertooth is still there, played by a different actor but he's their, so they shouldn't kill him off
trailer looks great, very dark, caught a glimpse of Deadpool. it's just that scene where he's flying towards the helicopter that looks a bit too cheesy
I HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS MOVIE NOW......ok now the yelling is over lol....I was on my way to my local comic shop picking up issue 2 of dark avengers(i was late on getting started on this series) and on my way out of the shop I asked him if he has seen anything on these deadpool scares he said yes he has seen them...but he was a little upset about what he saw...he said he saw wolverine like claws on deadpool...im high upset about this is it does happen...ok im better now...just thought i would vent that in here.

And given what their healing factor's are capible of, it's going to be hard to kill Sabes off for good. I wouldn't worry about it too much..

You have to change things for the sake of a movie. Wolverine and Sabretooth having the exact same power set and being so entrenched in each others history for absolutely no reason at all is far too big of a coincidence to just throw at the audience and not be addressed. There are really only two ways to go with it, attempt to rationalise it like they did with a blood relation or you make the shear coincidence of their similarities the primary focal point of the story... in which case a lot of more interesting plot points would need to take a back seat.
