X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I actually thought that was the only time in the film that the claws looked bad. Maybe they'll work on the effects so that by the time the DVD is released it looks a lot better?

Physically... like appearance-wise? Elaborate. 🤨

yes, appearence wise. firstly, he wasn't nearly tall enough (i heard they had to give the guy stilts). he wasn't physically imposing in any way, which cyclops is when he's in costume. singer talked about how expressive marsden could be even when cyclops is wearing the visor, which just proves he's missing the point completely. cyclops isn't that expressive when in costume. he gives orders, he leads the team, he kicks ass, but he's almost as unemotional as emma frost. even when he's scott, the only people he really lets himself open up around are jean or emma, and even with jean it wasn't fully.

I don't get how he wasn't right for Cyclops physically....I mean, this was back when he was in high school before the training and such, so he's not meant to be a really in shape or musclebound guy at that age. Facial features wise, I thought he looked very much like Scott from some of the comics, and especially the version from XM: Evolution.

we're talking about marsden... 😛

Oh...yeah, he doesn't look exactly like Scott, but he's a damn good actor, so I'm perfectly fine with him keeping the role in any future movies.

marsden or the origins guy?

Marsden.

Marsden.

ewwww.

Lol, you are aware I was agreeing with you that he doesn't look like Summers, right? But he is a pretty good actor, so I'm fine with the casting.

i liked him in disturbing behaviour, to be fair. i just don't, even now, see him as being suitable for cyclops...

In the claws in the mirror scene, did anyone else notice the claws looked like they were something out of who framed roger rabbit? hurray for unfinished effects.

Indeed. Where the claws met his knuckles, it was very wavy in the effect. Why couldn't they just...use some sort of prop? They could have had the "extending" part CGI, but fully extended could have been a prop that he held in his knuckles...no problem. (Like a handle that extended to his knuckles.

I noticed that too, thought it was hamon-lines on his blades, like a well forged Katana has, though they weren't in any other scenes. You're probably right, was just shit cgi.

Fair enough, everyone has different tastes and such.

How did you feel about Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth?

I know that question was directed at Raoul

but Liev Schreiber's Sabretooth was good but i still prefer Tyler Mane.

i just want to know how this Sabertooth becomes the one in the X-men movie

He grows his hair, shuts up for the most part, and stops running around like some rabid squirrel. Done.

I haven't actually watched the movie, so i can't comment bar the trailers.

i'm a big schreiber fan, so i hope he did well in the role. him being sabretooth was almost enough to make me watch the damn thing...

Trust me, he delivers quite well in the role, it's a very good performance.

Agreed, but I didn't like the fact that in X-Men 1, Sabertooth doesn't even talk to Logan... Kinda dumb with their past and everything...

Onestly, kinda disappointing. If I wanted to go the cinema to see plain action, I would've go watching Fast & Furious. The trailers and tv spots maked me believe the movie would've been great, especially after the big flop of X3, but then comes Wolverine Origins.Casting was ok, the special effects too, same for the locations, but the director failed to put them in the right way.Maybe Marvel and Fox should hire Christopher Nolan, cause he knows how to make a comic book based movie. And WTF with the multi-powered DeadPool, they screwed up a major character.Bah.

The movie wasn't that bad as some say, but Iron Man was much better.

Iron Man is the better movie of the two, but I enjoyed Wolverine more.
