Haiku for all

Just thought I would see if anyone felt like doing an odd spot of Haiku, or talking about it.

"Haiku is a 17-syllable verse form consisting of three metrical units of 5, 7, and 5 syllables."

The moment two bubbles
are united, they both vanish.
A lotus blooms.

That first line is not haiku material.

I know, its a Japanese translation, it is more difficult translating into English, or doing it in English due to the very different word structure and syntax........... this is more correct........

First autumn morning:
the mirror I stare into
shows my father's face.

Thats great. Thats a peach.

Yes, its always impressed how monumental concepts and emotions could be so skilfully condensed.
