Well...people want to know how the human race came along, so they create God, etc...it becomes accepted because at the time, people didn't know how to figure these things out (same goes for today). As science gets more advanced, religion has less and less of a purpose, but still, people like the comfort of believing that something, greater than ourselves, it out there...

i agree with what your saying but i like religion because i want to believe that i will still exist after my death.
