-The next step in Evolution...

alien1O.k. guys. Here's your chance to give your idea's on the next "Giant leap for Mankind!" According to Professor Xavier mutation is the next step in evolution. Give me your best idea's.
My idea! First you have to try to imagine something you can't see. The next step to me shouldn't be a possibility but an impossible one.
"The Human Quadruped", not the idealized step up from an animal quadruped but a leap forward where man loses none of his biped abilities but gains total ascendancy of all for of his appendages.homestar 🪩
What's your love-share it, once you've come up with a leap.

The Skrulls had Shape-shifting abilities, the Simpsons cartoon prophecized an extra finger...

Perhaps one of the current special/mutant abilities can be a norm, such as telepathy or proximity sense. The ability does not have to be as strong as current characters (i.e. Professor Xavier and Stick respectively), but this extra powers would make humans a little less frail. Maybe slightly denser skin for possible added strength and durability [like the Asgardians] also.

Chance certainly plays a large part in evolution, but this argument completely ignores the fundamental role of natural selection, and selection is the very opposite of chance. Chance, in the form of mutations, provides genetic variation, which is the raw material that natural selection has to work with.

unless something seperates mankind from each other, we r never gonna mutate or anything....cause the theory is that if we stay together...as in like always incontact with other humans....then there is no need to mutate/evolve unless say half of the worl dies and then there r only like a million ppl on earth

I guess we are not on the comic book discussion here after all (and I was going to imagine "The Force" possibility). Well then, I assume our cranal structure will be larger. Any relative size and body hair changes will change with our environment, but that would fall towards adaptation.

Most of the cultures in the world are not applying ourselves for the need of fitter bodies as "the hunter and gathering" types of previous times, so I assume our physique would be a less built.

Yet, I worry about the amount of pollution we've created in this world and on the dire effects it may have on our changes, both internally and cosmetically. I could see a possibility of a weaker immune system, or even stunted growth as a norm.

Actually, wasn't the idea of such a large influx of mutants in the Marvel world based on high pollution levels? However, I doubt we would ever evolve to the point of having special powers as described either.

There was a theory in Daredevil unrelated to X-Men about it being possible for humans to become pollution breathing mosters as a result of industry not being kept in check by environmental considerations.

Evolution is basically chance modified by environment... to put it simply... a change in environment sends a signal that tells the dna that a change in a beings structure is needed... so-called "junk-genes" then activate randomly changing the structure... some changes have a beneficial effect, enabling the being to better survive the environmental change... the being survives... some of the changes are harmful to the being (eg cancer) and the being then dies... some changes are neither harmful nor beneficial, and the being survives for a time, untl overwhelmed by the environmental change that triggered the structure chang, or until wiped out by competition from those beings better adapted to suit the environmental change... evolution is random, and often harmful.... it is also indiscriminate and uncaring... when your aunt gets cancer, and you wonder why, well, its just evolution at work...

dudes the mutation in the marvel universe is very different from evolution in the real world, evolution doesnt exist to make a bieng perfect, it exists on whole to let the dna survive while sacrificin nethin in the bieng the dna actually programs{well in a matter of speaking} so , dna does not exist to help us survive and make us perfect but instaed we live to help the dna survive and make the dna more perfect.{which mean that a dna will give inferior characteristics to an organism if it sees fit for its individual or as a whole{i mean DNA as a species}. survival

Life has no point.

Think about it, many of you are teenagers/new adults....You'll find someone, have sex [married or not]and slowly drift away from friends. acting more and more old [maturing] as tha years pass treating your kids as your parents treated you...retiring from your career. spending your last years watching your grandkids and their generation making tha same mistake you made or close to it. then one day you die, repeating things someone else has done and not contributing anything that truly mattered.

That is why there IS a higher being, we are put here to worship a God so we may be sent to a better afterworld. Thus religion comes in.

Why should we evolve? It takes millions of years and at tha rate we are multiplying and becoming more intelligent, we're outa this planet in a million years. currently, we are given tha intelligence to roam around tha globe and multiply like cockroaches. With so many inventions and such, western civilization is at a declining slant. Younger girls are having sex, divorse rates are increasing...socially we are receding so our culture is doomed to fail. Give it another 50 years.

As for physiology, we wont change since we dont have anything to adapt to. Tha more conveniences you have, tha less need there is for adaption. with companies competing to make you lazier and lazier, we dont even have to walk up to tha TV to change a channel [to say tha least]. imagine 50 years later.

Intelligence is tha only change, kids are smarter these days. I am a prime example, I'm 18 and my mind works incredibly [thanks to God]. why is this? because information is so easy to attain, and different perspectives are freely expressed resulting in a generation that is very thought-provoked. but what can intelligence give you? tha only thing you can have with it is power...and on this earth, power was limited to as high as dictatorship..which is more rare than ever nowadays.

So all you really can do is treat everyone as best you can, make tha best influence over others as you possibly can, help as many people as you can, pray to "your" God...and die.

There is no evolving in our future, and wont be. Only technological advancements.

i think we shall develope our brainwaves.

wrong, I'm afraid... the increase in childhood asthma is a response to the changing atmosphere, as is the increase in melanism.... also, more and more children are being born with displaced canine teeth, as the need to rip raw meat disappears... eventually humans will have only molars and incisors.... the changes may not be as dramatic as walking upright, developing binocular colour vision and talking... but they are there, and are the most visible signs of successful "junk gene " respecialization.... just as the increase in cancer and other genetic disorders is the most visible evidence of random, harmful junk gene activation...

Ever wonder why there is so much sudden disease? obviously it is due to some change in our lives...for example : STD's are tha result of dirty people..physically and sexually. back before condoms people couldn't have so much sex.

and tha asthma thing isn't totally correct. children who are breastfed are less likely to have asthma. also, it isn't really "adaption". adaption is when you develop a physical characteristic to survive better to tha environment. asthma is not something developed in order to live better in our changed atmostphere. so therefore, everything we will experience is not adaption.

as i said before, we evolve to sustain our dna, thus we can evolve for the bad or for the worse, indeed who ever says that we have stopped evolving because of the ease in our current lives compared to our ancestors is sadly mistaken, evolution is not necessarily in our physical attributes, but can be in our mental attributes as well, my theory is that in this time and age, there is minimal physical evolution, but there is tremendous psychologocal evolution, this does not necessarily mean that the upcoming generations will be smarter than us, no thats not the point, smart would only be helpful to the organism as a whole, because it wus make things eisier for that organism to accomplish, but it wont be too great for the dna as with ease comes less flexibility, amiability and a lesser ability to adapt to the enviornment, also, ease would bring with it, a slower evolutionary rate, and that is not favourable to the dna. that is why, in my opinion, we are developimg our brains in a way as to broaden our horizons and increase our scope, but we are not evolving to necessarily become better calculaters{as this is a one sided evolution and will destroy the very concept behind evolution which is diversity and amiability, which is what is required by our dna from its host{which happens to be us}

and fer heavens sake don bring god into this discussion, n dont say that there HAS to be a higher being just cause that is wat u wannna believe, {not that i have a lot against relegion} but dont say that we were given this life just to worship n obey GOD,{that may be ur belief but not all people share it}
