I think that Maul prefers to kill his victims rather than senselessly taunt them. Maul is a fighter, and I'm sure he doesn't have much to say. He speaks with his skills. And besides, I think just the sight Darth Maul would intimidate me more then anything Dooku or Vader had to say (well, maybe Vader, but you know what I mean).
that's twice now I've seen this hypothetical "Darth Maul doesn't taunt" thing
OH YES HE FRIGGIN DOES!!!! 😖 How did he die? By taunting Obi-Wan...rubbing it in the Jedi's face; "Hey look, you're hanging there, and I can shower you with random sparks, and there's nothing you can do about! Yea, I know it's pointless? Ah crap, I've been stabbed..."
It's just Maul's personality. He's very much an 'actions speak louder than words' guy. It's like Blade, he doesn't waste time or energy talking, he just gets right to the business of killing.
On a similar note, how come he doesn't use Dark Lightning? Does he not have the knowledge/power, or does he just choose to not use it?
Probely becuase Maul likes hes Saber more than the force. Maul is probely one of the best Double Bladed duelists ever! This is where he is too overconfident. He i might think im the one lightsaber duelists ever, i was trained by sidious. If hes got that much arrigance with a lightsaber, he will not need the force. But he was proven wrong we he fought Obi Wan

I agree with this assesment. Would have ruined the character to have him be a blabbermouth. And I dont think he has that kind of power. (Lightning)
On a side note.......did you guys know that it was NOT Ray Parks voice that was used for the movie? I had no idea until just the other day. 😖

Really cool siggy you got there!Anyway I think you are right,Instead of brother to talking to them he reather kill them in silent.Which proves he is a silent killer like a snake.
He is cool in my book throuhg,I love his lightsavor.JM 😎 🤣
Maybe his lack of lines has something to do with the fact that the actor didn't speak English. 😉 They probably tried not to give him too many lines to memorize because of that (he actually did awesome with what few lines he had!). I wouldn't be surprised to hear there's another reason for it, but for now, that's the only one I can come up with.

😑 Ray Park speaks perfect English. He played Darth Maul in the film but he did NOT doing the speaking part. That was someone else. And there is no reason for Maul to speak. He's silent but deadly. The way he should be IMHO.
ah HA! found the info I was looking for. GIves the name of the actor and the lines that were cut.
from this website http://www.dmeb2.org/cast/voice.html
There is little information available on Peter Serafinowicz, the man who gave us that wonderful, sexy, voice of Darth Maul.
The 32 year-old actor auditioned three times to get the part of Maul - a part he feared he would never get. According to an interview in Star Wars Insider, he states the last time he auditioned, he did so in front of George Lucas himself.
“I was trying to exude this coolness, but I kept tripping over things - inside I was nearly having a heart attack,” he said. “I did my impression of Darth Vader for him and he laughed.”
He ended up drawing from other Star Wars characters in creating the voice, the late actor Peter Cushing (Grand Moff Tarkin) in particular. “I was thinking of the legacy of the Star Wars films and these English baddies.” The results, as Jason Fay put in the article, ‘Voices of Episode I’ - “were the hypnotic, kingly tones now famous world-wide.”
The recording itself took only an afternoon - three lines in the whole movie (far too few for our taste!). A couple additional lines ended up on the cutting room floor:
“I feel there is more to this, My Master. The two Jedi may be using the Queen for their own purposes.”
“I told you there was more to this - the Jedi are involved!”
the actual film lines were
The lines spoken by Serafinowicz as Darth Maul are:
“Tatooine is sparsely populated. If the trace was correct, I will find them quickly, Master.”
“At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge.”
“Yes, my Master.”
And there is also the “One Truth” trailer which appeared on television, promoting The Phantom Menace. The lines spoken by Serafinowicz there are:
“Fear. Fear attracts the fearful - the strong - the weak - the innocent - the corrupt. Fear. Fear is my ally.”
