Anyone getting the Dawn of the Dead remake on DVD?

Well i am, the unrated director's cut mostly with all the gore and violence that was cut out of the theatrical release.

Anyone noticed the fast zombies in the remake we're kind of inspired by the ones from "Lifeforce", " Nightmare City ( a.k.a. City of the Walking Dead)" and "Return of the Living Dead"?

I am defiantly buying this...I can't wait!

though I didn't notice what movie inspired the remake zombies to run..I just know they scared the crap out of me!

Since maybe 1/100th of America has seen the first two movies, the logical answer would be that they were inspired by "28 Days Later".

But yeah, I've been waiting for this one for a while now. It's a good month for Horror.

Yes I'm buying it. The re-make was so-so. Entertaining movie to watch but nothing spectacular.

Had it on dvd since about late August.

I've been antisipating this tuesday for so long now.

I have waited for this DVD for so long, and it was finally released in the UK today (Oct 25th). So, I rushed out and got it, and have already seen it twice. I enjoyed it better than the original, but can someone fill me in on 1 think? I heard that the actor who played Roger was playing a general in it, but I can't remember seeing him? Is this true?

Just a heads up for those of you buying it at Best Buy. The editions with the bonus disc have a blue sticker on the front.

It's actually not all that great. There's a 3 minute storyboard comparison, a 5 minute concept sketch segment, and a punny piece about the zombies.

The extras on the actual disc themselves aren't that special, either. The faux newscast and Andy's home videos were just way too corny. Hopefully the movie itself will make up for it.

I figure I'll watch it twice tomorrow. Once with commentary, once without. Anyone buying both versions of the movie for any reason?

I rented it a week ago, I liked andy's little home movie thingy. Thought it was a neat novelty, althoug corny as stated above. Nonetheless, an interesting and unique addition.

I got it yesterday. The bonus feature with the newscasts is great. The other main bonus feature, inside Andy's gun store, is so-so and kind of dull.

That newscast is so ****ing stupid, guys. C'mon. The "X-Men" faux newscast, where they actually used characters and actors from the movie, set the bar.
