am i hearing this right!? Anakins journey to the darkside is a very human and emotional story. You CANT tell the story of his downfall without emotion. First he departs with his mother, wandering if he would ever see her again, then 10 years later she dies in his arms. And hes also been held back, which led him to frustration. He falls in love - and as a result, lives a lie, and gets seduced by Palpatine. I know everyone knows this, but its about time someone sumed everthing up of how much of a tough life Anakin Skywalker had. How would you deal with those issues, if you went through all that? at this point i believe he is troubled and confused. He feels betrayed!

Yeah; i agree- i kinda wish lucas would have upped the ani for anakin(pun intended)- like, have made him older for the phantom menace.
Oh well
If you make him older it would be more stupid that he misses her mother SO much... its already stupid for a man that for 10 years has being taught not to love anybody, to love so much his mommy...

i guess yer right there; it just seems stupid for this tiny dork to become vader; ep2 you actually get some emotion even if his acting wasn't that great, and ep3 is gonna have a TON of emotion.
I think it's actually a pretty good progression, alot of people give lucas alot of grief but I can't think of any other way to tell the PT story, I think anakin's fall is really well done, starting off as a kid was a good idea. You are right though, episode 3 will be the big payoff, I find myself looking at OT vader through new eyes.. he still seems viciously evil but I too can sense the good in him 😄
I agree with you Alliance that little Anakin should have appeared to be more advanced than an average 9 year old in ways other than his force given abilities.
But I like what they have done with II and III Anakin, In II he had all the potential in the world and he thought that alone made him great. But in II he has 2 massive failures, his mother and than failing in the dooku fight twice nearly killing himself and Obi Wan.
In III he has asserted himself and become a great warrior though he is not a great Jedi, and from what I have seen is throught the entire movie until he turns, he will appear very torn between right and wrong. He knows some of the things he will do are wrong and knows he shouldnt do them. That will lead to the crying scene following the Mustafar slaughter after his hate begins to subside, he realises what he has done.
it sounds like ep3 is gonna be really powerful! to quote ep 1 anakin - yipee! I think episode one was good because it showed how happy the kid was, all he had was his mom and that's all he needed to be happy, and having that one thing taken away has got to be a little rough.. I think discussing the movies brings new depth to them, good work georgie
