now before you say anything, i know that they use diff. colours during the filming of ROTS to contrast tremendously between the sabre and the blue/green screen.

most all of the shot are against green screen and when it is, the fake lightsabres have a blue stick.

why is this one RED????
why would they choose red of all colours???

i wonder if maybe the sabre WILL be red!

blue blends in with the green screen.....its harder to catch a blue blur the na red one.....you dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure out why..

Ewan's stunt saber is often red in videos as well, it means nothing

and Green Is just Blue with yellow tossed in, they dont go well together with green screen

It has been said by Pablo (or someone) that the color of the sabers during filming has nothing to do with the color of the blade in the movie.......

you are wrong about one thing... "imho"
its not opinion, its fact. a fact which has been stated
time and time again.

They use different colors to show up better in front of the green and blue screens. Red is much easier to pick up on a green screen.

all I know is those of you that persist in this red vs blue thing are going to be eating a whole lot of humble pie.

Stunt sabers almost are never the same color in the finished shot, I hope you know...

I am an independent filmmaker and I use blue/green screens. That is exactly what they are doing: using different colored ones, that contrast the backgrounds...the stunt sabers, like Bespin Bart said, are never they same color as they will be after post production.

It's to distingush the sabers apart... why would you want to have a melt of the same color on a rough copy? It'd be much harder to do the effects upon the poles, since they'd have to pause to see who's was who's. Since Hayden is "bad' he gets the red one. Doesn't mean that it's going to be red. Ob1's is green, and it'll be blue in the movie. That simple.
