jeez ; i dont believe you go to all the trouble of explaining it when you can easily post pics.

anyway i saw it and my first thoughts in the beginning of the movie were that soon it was going to kick in with all the scenery to which my expectations were not met. I was like WTF is this movie ?

i decided to switch to watching the movie with director's audio commentary and half way through it i fell asleep.

Whats usual about it was that the environment is not there ; Its a stage. otherwise you can perfectly hear the crickets at night time, the wind blowing etc.........even an invisible dog barking !

A movie perfectly adapted for blind people IMO

I do enjoy Lars Von Trier's work but you definitely have to be in the mood for his films.
I read somewhere that Dogvile was based on the theme of Intolerance ...I guess what better way to play the theme was to tolerate such a sparse set..?

Apparently when Bjork stormed off the set in Dancer In The Dark, Lars threatened to replace her character with 20 different stand-ins of all shapes & sizes holding a Bjork face taped to a stick in front of their faces. When Bjork realised that Lars was serious she quickly got off her high horse & preceded with the filming.
