So that being said, no, I don't think he's overrated. If you asked 90% of people who Maynard was, they probably wouldn't know... Among some of his fans, maybe, but Tool don't have a big enough fan base to justify being called overrated. Nirvana are an overrated band--they have a huge fan base, much of which thinks they're one of the greatest bands ever, which isn't true.

Well... They do, but if you asked the average person if they had ever heard Tool, they probably would say no... They have a lot of fans, but it's not a very mainstream fan base...
