A lunar eclipse can occur up to three times a year, actually; there are a few types of lunar eclipses, such as total, penumbral, and umbral 😖 (I think that's how it goes, I learned about this a while ago), which, if you know anything about shadows, are certain degrees of darkness, and how far it spreads.
A total lunar ecplise doesn't happen all that much
