I'm hype for the next chapter! Did you guys notice this?

783 = gear 4
387 = gear 2

Oh come on, there's a whole ton of supernova and higher level people around in fairly good condition and they're having Luffy go solo....

They need better excuses, like having threats still around.

Though maybe Gear 4 will return the 'power at a price' thing to battle... I think Gear 3's shrinking limit only affected a battle once, vs Lucci. I like seeing Luffy have to fight his way around disadvantages.

Usually the excuses are events. Find a bomb, free Robin, outrun gas. Here yeah they should probably be helping Luffy. Everyone dies if birdcage isn't stopped.

Then again Sanji is stronger than most of the people left(sans Sabo/Zoro) and Doffy pretty effortlessly handled him. And if Cavendish did get involved there is always the risk of Doffy controlling him.

But Doffy could try that with Luffy too so yeah there is no real reason to not help fight.

I'm genuinely curious what Gear 4 will be. Gear 2 was using rubber body parts to cause the blood to pump much faster and Gear 3 was putting air in a balloon.

True, I forgot the control thing! It'd help to call that up, but that's a legit reason.

And it'd only be an assist, backup doesn't need to be as strong as the main.

What *is* the conditions for taking control of someone with thread? Doffy hasn't use it in awhile, yet he was able to do it against a major officer of Whitebeard's.

Who is worse, Rebecca or Tashigi?

Rebecca is better, since she held her own in the arena and she is the damsel in distress of the current arc. She more important story wise, compared to Tashigi. Tashigi is struggling swordsmen, who probably serve as Zoro fangirl only.

So we finally get to see higher end results of Luffy's training. It's all just so ridiculous, I can't help but giggle.

I'm digging it.

Hm, so basically it's somewhat like gear 3, except with more bouncing around and defense...

Wonder if it has a disadvantage.

Taishigi. I mean, Rebecca's story is someone forced to be a fighter and who doesn't like hurting people. Not great, but she's not built up to be someone aiming to be strong, just a survivor. No shame in not being a badass if you never wanted to *be* in fights.

Tashigi's is 'veteran New World Marine captain... who breaks down in fights when she loses.' Booo.

It seems a bit angry? Like, it should look more silly- this is One Piece, after all!

Wonder if Luffy will shrink this time. It looks kind of like Nightmare Luffy.

Its kind of goofy how he doesn't seem to be able to walk, he just bounces.

I thought Luffy form would look a bit similar to this, but Oda got me with his silliness.

His new form looks dopey, but that's what I love about OP. I guess Luffy 4th Gear isn't like Super Saiyan power up, its more like a shift in ability, from speed to power?

2nd Gear was a shift in speed. 3rd Gear was a shift in power. 4th Gear seems top be a balance of the two along with his improved Haki control.

Can anyone help me with this? I'm looking for the chapter Drake appeared and captured Caribou. I recall it might be from the chapter cover page stories.

So Luffy finally finishes off Doflamingo with his strongest move: Gomu Gomu no Hadouken.

Would be lolworthy if Doflamingo just patches himself up with his strings.

This "awakened" thing is interesting. Seems to make Devil Fruit users surpass their limits, making them OP. Could it be exclusive to those with the "Will of D"?

If Doffy really did just lose then that would be lame.

Awakening is an interesting concept...but I'm confused how it works. And I'm confused if Doffy is the only one thus far to use it. If so does that mean, say, Whitebeard was not fighting with the full strength of the Gura Gura?
