Arlong was not boring. Shut up.

I don't get how you can like the fishman more, he's so boring he reminds me of the other fismen we've seen in the series.

Except he has the whole samurai/stoic warrior thing and was buds with Ace, while most other fishpeople we've seen are pretty different from that.

Aarlong's only threat was to make Luffy so bored he would implode!

The kabuki thing is almost decent, however, being friends with Ace makes him lose coolness points.

I like him because he's very "European duelist."
I just meant the "honor" involved, other than that, yeah he is more like a duelist. (not saying european duelists don't have honor, they just aren't as famous for it like samurai are)

European duelists, assuming you are talking about fencing, historically were very dirty, pragmatic fighters.

Lolhonor.

Lolhonor.

Other than wanting to have a good fight and being respectful, Mihawk isn't too honor-obsessed. After all, he picks on the weak like Don Krieg for fun.

Was speaking to menokoro.

Old-timey fencing had such delightful maneuvers as grabs, pulls, concealed weapons, kicks, kicks to the balls, and breaking arms so you can proceed to grappling.

thats always fun lol

Respect and honor go hand in hand, if Mihawk didn't have honor or at least doesn't honor the swordsman's way, he could have just killed Zoro in their first encounter and wouldn't train the man who wants to surpass him...

I guess it's safe to assume he follows his own warrior's code, and as a pirate, he is one of the few I see as honorable...

Well, agreed, but he still is a pirate remember.

Actually most swordsmen would have just killed him. European duelist or samurai.

Which is why I think Mihawk has at the very least a modicum of honor despite being a pirate...

Personally, I would liken Mihawk more to what could be described as a far more stable Blood Knight. I believe he spared Zoro, only because he wants a strong swordsman to battle, and he saw potential in Zoro.

Please, post proof of this or just a place to read good anecdotes, it sounds like fun.

Mihawk is just a twilight fan with an oversized sword. Yep, I said it.

Nah. Maybe later.

What?

Was I not clear enough?

I want to read about old fencing anecdotes!
