Actually blue stars should give him even more energy than white stars.

Every time adamantium has been broken or bended, it was retconned-that's a proven fact. No Superman could not break adamantium, not even dent it, not even the slightest.

Yes Superman can break adamantium. Adamantium is not unbreakable, it's "virtually" indestructable.

http://marvel.com/universe/Adamantium

Marvel wiki states "Virtually" indestructable. Words have meaning, "virtually" does not mean completely and or totally. It means "nearly" or "almost entirely."

Since Superman can shatter the boundries of space/time with the shockwaves of his punches, (see Superman Infinite Crisis tie in issue)he can break the "virtually" indestructable Adamantium under his normal power levels. If he somehow could not do so under normal power levels, then he most certainly can after a sun bath.

I've noticed many comic book readers make untrue claims of Adamantium being unbreakable or (another example) Hulk having "limitless" strength. When Marvel states Adamantium is "virtually" indestructable and Hulk has the "potential" of limitless strength. "Potential" means basically possible, not actual.

When was this ever retconned? I don't seem to recall any actual retcon, just fan assumptions of it. Also, adamantiun ain't indestructible.

I suppose they mean when the Hulk crushed Ultron's adamantiun chasis during the Secret Wars, only for it to have been reduced to him crushing a secondary adamantium chasis. So yes it was retconned, at least once.

lol at the idea of superman breaking adamantium

No, he can't.

Sun dipped sure, under his normal power probblly not.

The Hulk tore Wolverine in two. And Superman is stronger than Hulk, yes?

That was ultimate wolverine and ultimate hulk. Mainstream adamantium hasn't been broken by hulk, all of his fights with wolverine ended with Logan perfectly in tact.

So what is the answer?

I still want to know if Superman (post-crisis) can tear apart true adamantium. I read the whole thread and I'm leaning towards "no" due to Thor's dent adventure.

it all depends on what universe it is, in different reality's adamantium has different strengths, hulk ripped wolvarine in two but not in the standard marvel universe but one where the metal isn't as strong.

No. No superman can not break adamantium. Period.

Reeve Superman could. Easy.

Hulk ripping Wolverine was not an adamantium breaking feat, Ultimate Wolverine's skeleton isn't interlocked as in 616, so all Hulk did was tear flesh and joints; why Wolverine was able to press and heal himself back together.

wasn't that because in the ultimate universe the ligament and joints did not have adamantium coating them? not to mention the joints wouldn't be able to move freely if they were coated...

In 616 all of Logan's bone is coated with Adamantium.

yea and his joints and tendons are coated with secondary adamantium im pretty sure(could be mistaken though)

but his fight with hulk(when he was torn in half) was in the ultimate universe....and that's what i was speaking of

EDIT: it might be the same in both but i was thinking he did not have his ligs and tends coated in the untimate universe

Yes, Superman 1-4

Not even close, Reeve Superman has on demand powers. Mind-reading, memory-erasing kiss, Saran-wrap-chest-attack, talking in space, brick-laying vision etc.

Give Reeve Superman an adamantium wall to break; he'll have adamantium wall destroying powers.
