She came out of the tent carrying a misshaped bag that seemed fairly heavy. 'I see you packed a few things', Paul said smiling, looking at her bag. 'You said to get a weapon and get ready so I did', she said smiling.
'Before we go a few things...well for one this is not a picnic, we're risking our lives and could passably die and the other thing, your name?'
'You can die walking your dog, I'm not gona stop walking my dog because of that' she laughed 'and I told you my name, you weren't listening, Raine'
'Sorry about that but that' he took a deep breath to calm his anger towards Sam, 'that man, who I was talking to before in the tent kinda caught my full attention.'
'Don't worry about it' she said happily, 'So are we going?'
Paul was once again amassed at her attitude towards this whole ordeal, he laughed, 'You know how to use a gun? we could be needing to shoot a thing or two on the way to the Hive.'
'I've seen people shooting before but I never shot anything myself'
Paul turned off the engine and got off the bike, 'Ok lets do this quick'. Paul gave her a quick course on how to handle a pistol, a submachinegun and throw a grenade (without actually throwing one), she handled them surprisingly well. The whole lesson took only about 20 minutes and she was a pro as far as he was concerned.
'Ok now i'm gona be driving and I need both hands on the wheel so if you see anything shoot it unless I say otherwise, ok?.' Paul instructed.
'Piece a' cake she said loading her gun'
'So we're off', Paul got on the bike and made room for Raine, It was a bit uncomfortable with both bags but after a minute or so they managed to get seated. Paul started the engine, it choked a couple times before coming back to life with a high rrrrrr.
Paul knew the way to the Hive and had been instructed no to come near the facility unless instructed to do so but he didn't really feel like obeying orders at this particular moment. As they drove by the last of the tents Sam came running from some wear to their right. 'How many more people have to die!?' he yelled out to them.
'One to many if you don't get out of my way!', Paul said sharply as he slowed to a stop.
I'm not letting you take the girl, if you want to throw away your own life that's one thing but don't involve other peop-', he was cut off by Raine, 'I'm not asking you if I can go or not, now get out of the way!', she pointed her gun at him smiling at paul who looked back at her. Paul pulled back the gas and Sam was forced to jump out of the way as they sped by. 'Nice one!', he yelled to rain over the loud noise of the engine and wind. The sky was turning morning blue and Paul could see fairly well ahead of him so he drove fast into the city, the faster he got there the less he would be threatened by astray zombies in the city.
'What's the Hive?', Rain yelled.
It's Umbrellas top secret science facility, there they suposabely (<--no idea how you spell that word) develop ways to improve human life. So far this is how they've done' Paul gestures to the city around them that was in ruins and stained with bodies and rubble.
'I think they may have gone wrong some wear, she joked as she looked at the building that were speeding by. 'What is the hive like?'
'I don't know, I've only seen it on maps or drove by the Church that's disguising it, I've never actually been in it.'
'Oh that's reassuring!', she said sarcastically.
'Rain SHOOT!', distracted by their conversation PAul hadn't noticed the creature who was chasing after them and quickly gaining. It was like nothing paul had ever seen before, it seemed like all flesh no skin and it was massive. It seemed like it was good for one thing and one thing only...Killing.
Rain didn't hesitate an instant and started emptying her gun on the creature, her aim wasn't bad, she hit two thirds of the bullets but the creature barley flinched and seemed to be gaining even faster. 'Shoot it's head!', Paul yelled.
'I'm trying!', She was handling herself well considering the circumstances but it would be hard for even Paul to get a head-shot with the way Paul was driving to try and get away from the dam creature.
'OH Fvck it!', she stuffed the gun in her pocket and took out a grenade, she struggled with the pin (those buggers are hard to get out) for a moment, she finally got it out and she threw the grenade. At the speed they were going they and the chaser passed the grenade long before it exploded and now the creature was only thirty feet away. Paul's whole mind was set on the street but he still saw the creature in the mirror.
'Wait three seconds before you throw the grenade!' he yelled to Rain who was struggling with another grenade.
'Are you crazy, it'll blow up by then!', her upper body was turned backwards facing the creature and she could smell the stench of decay coming from it.
'It has a five second delay!', Paul yelled with his eyes still on the road.
'Ok here goes nothing..' she let go of the clip that immediately sprang out, one..two..she aimed and *Boom*. The debris wave that followed caused Paul to loose control of the bike causing it to skid on it's side while they rolled behind it. They finally came to a halt and Paul looked back at the scattered pieces of whatever that thing was lying all over the place.
'Are you ok?' he called to Rain who was a few feet next to him.
'I'll live', she said whipping her bloody elbow on her pants leg.
'I gotta hand it to you, that was one hell of a kill!', Paul said smiling as he sat up. He was fine except for a scrape all along his leg but his pants had taken the worst of the scrape. Amazingly their bags were intact and Paul's was still on his back. His jacket was a bit torn but it was well made and it withstood for the most. Rain was also fine except for a scraped elbow and a shoulder that looked like it got some banging. RAin got up and swayed for a second in her spot then bent down to pick up her bag.
'How's the bike?' she asked.
Paul thought it funny that that was all she had to say after what just happened. He looked over to the bike, it seemed like the bike took the worse of the beating but cleared a path for them.
'It looks like we're gona have to walk from here, if you wana go back I can tell you the way, you've helped more than enough, you save our asses back there.'
'Are you sick!? Me go back there by myself with those fvcks behind us?! Sorry you're stuck with me.'she grinned as she brushed herself off.
Paul got up, 'I wouldn't say stuck, I think I'll be glad for the company not before long. So far you've helped me more that I helped you.'
'So I have', she looked back at the remains of the creature. 'What was that?'
'Your guess is as good as mine but I'm guessing that's another one on Umbrellas Ideas of improving our lives. You ready to keep going, we're not far?'
'Ready as I'll ever be', she said adjusting her bag on her back. 'Point in a direction.'
'After me', Paul said and started walking with Raine close behind.
OOC: sorry again, hopefull that'll be the last long post for now. I just had to get into the mood.
