Sony has confirmed that the playstation 3 is going to use the new blu-ray disk technology

its a disk uses a blu laser instead of a red laser so that it can hold more info and it uses a new hard cover that can go into the system so that it can avoid scratching or breaking

Where is the confirmation? Link please? I heard they were still battling with some high density DVD or whatever?

yes it's true, Playstation confirmed they're going with Blue ray DVD, and Toshiba is going after Microsoft to use HD DVD in Xbox 2.
