Black Sabbath (this is to discuss NOT TO TRASH)

Started by ragesRemorse3 pages

Black sabbath deserves the credit they get. They rocked out in new sounds, but diddnt go much further than that. I think ozzy and rhoads produced better music than sabbath though. Rhoads was a nutty wizard on the guitar.

but Rhoads never was the riff master Iommi was and is

If Roads did not die he would of been named the gratest gitarist of all times, personaly i think no gitarist will ever even be near how good Roads was

well thats your opinion, yes he was great but there were and are guitarist that matches Randy without a problem

Exactly.

I think in the modern day Rhodes would be no match for Morello or Jones. Let alone being a match for the likes of Hendrix, Van Halen, MacAlpine, Malmsteen etc.

The death actually boosted Rhoads status, it aint all that certain he would have been a guitar hero had he still been alive

Indeed.

Has any one here heard of a band called troble?

Do you mean Trouble? or an actual band called Troble?

nope cant say that i have sry

I have been lucky enough to see black sabbath live with all the original members, was at the UK 2001 Ozzfest at Milton Keynes, they were the best band of the day without a doubt, and they played for nearly 2 hours, completly awesome!

if you didnt guess i like black sabbath.

ive seen sabbath 3 times and randy could play ****ing circles around morrelo

ive seen sabbath 3 times and randy could play ****ing circles around morrelo
what has that got to do with seing Sabbath 3 times?

Thing with Randy is would he develop his skills or would he stagnate, the likes of Yngvie Malmsteen is that they copied Randy`s style and developed the technique further on.
No doubt that Randy was extremly good, but his death really made him a guitar icon. I bet if the likes of Ritchie Blackmore had died before he quit Purple he would have been up there with the same status Hendrix has, but fact is that Ritchie is still alive and kicking and still an awsome guitarist. So the question still stands that if Randy had gotten to live on we really dont know how he would have developed. Tragic as it is some artists rally gain on dieing, if you get my drift.
Look at all those who died young that has a achived cult status.
Beside Randy Rhoads we have Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morrisson, Janis Joplin, Jeff Buckley, Kurt Cobain, Marc Boland, Ian Curtis(Joy Division) Sid Vicious (Sids cult status is beyond me, but even so)...................

Back to Sabbath, my fav albums, well I have 2.
Master Of Reality and Vol 4.

"ive seen sabbath 3 times and randy could play ****ing circles around morrelo"

I don't believe he would, at all. Sorry.
