Okay, I have never been to an actual Metallica concert, but ive seen some videos/DVD's of some concerts and those concerts dissapointed me when it came to their musical qualities live. 99% is due to Lars, whos an even worse drummer then I thought. The tight guitar work is wasted due to the sucky drumming.

Thats just a few concerts ofcourse, but still...

Yeah but I've actually seen them live.

They rule.

Well said Alpha Centauri, its a shame Bierbommetje doesn't think the same.

Yeah, well, I was talking technicely, purely based on how they performed, not the way it sounded, the way it looked, the show surrounding it etc.

THAT dissapointed me

Awwwww poor 'tallica 🙁 Me likes their old stuff much better.... ✅ St. Anger ain't that good 🙁 but I still like it.....but it doesn't even compare to their older stuff. But I still love them yay!

Yeah but I didn't go the see them to watch how they looked, how they physically performed or anything surrounding it. That, when I went, was great anyway. I went to see them play Rock music. They did and did so better than most bands.

Hmm, ok

Its just that its hard for me to imagine Lars actually drumming as tight as on record, with very little mistakes. Bad drumming often ruins a performance.

Ive never seen one live song being played as tight as on record.

Also, James singing is sometimes out of tune quite badly on some shows. And his voice is a lot less cool sounding on the shows ive seen. But thats subjective. I just like the Black Album type singing.

This is a bit of a weird argument, cause I want to be wrong, and I want them to be awesome live. Just tell me that I just happened to see all there off days in a row.

um i think when your so in awe then it doesnt really matter...do you know what i mean?

anyway who wants it to sound exactly the same as on the record thats just boring.. sleeping

Well James records his vocals after he records his guitar parts. So he'll sound more focused of course.

Try paying Master of Puppets WHILE singing after doing a set as long as they do.

Not an easy task. They might not sound as amazing as they do on record but they sound ****ing great anyway. Cunning Stunts for example.

Well said...a good live song is the Raw sound of the proper song. thats what the band heard when they first played it together.... Studio's just take away a;ll background sounds and stuff like that so ofcourse they will be different live.

I never said that they should sound the same as on record, I just kinda expected them to be as tight as on record.

I wasnt really talking about James' playing, its Lars who ruins it for me.
They're show would probably be kick ass if they had a good drummer.

But yeah, I can imagine there being a world of difference between seeing it on a television screen and actually being there.

lars being an standar drummer is nothing new 😉 ... but he and james are the heart and soul of the band

dont forget pi..i mean Kirk 😐

of course...without kirk solos they´d be just another metal band
