"i think metallica sold out but it has nothing to do with the new record they sold out when they were paid by the record company to cut their hair
i also think their last record was just them seeing how far they could push the fans i meen they shit out a record mand it still sold"
If you stopped listening to Metallica because of their hair then quite frankly I'm glad you don't like them anymore. They didn't get paid to cut their hair, it was their own choice. You honestly think if you walked up to James Hetfield and said "Cut your hair now" he'd do it? Hmm.
Are Metallica as good as they were in the days of old? No. Are they shit? No. Have they sold out? No.
The have straightened themselves out and have also changed a member. This changes alot. They're still the same musicians that gave us those great albums and great songs. I don't think St.Anger (which in my opinion had some great songs) is reason enough to write them off.
They haven't done anything they didn't want to do and that means they haven't sold out so I suggest we end that debate there.
As for the "They stopped making good music after 92" comment. I think that is very very far from the truth. Slipknot have only just put out their best work and it's thanks to Rick Rubin mainly. Metallica have kept the same producer from the Black Album onward and put out great and not so great material.

dont any of you people who think that load and reload think that St. Anger is a step back to their old music? cont you see them heading back to the older style? when i saw them they put "Dirty Window" and "St Anger" in their set and they blended into the set with all their old stuff, it was great.
and by saying "they have music on suoundtracks = sell out" then that means System of a Down, Rammstein, Korn, Slipknot, Rage Aginst the Machine etc etc have all also sold out. 😉

Lars looks like Richard H..?? -- who was that guy from Survivor-- Richard Hatchet?? is that-- anyways he looked like some old man but he still was sooo awesome
I have a friend who drives a taxi for Wichita- and he gave Lars and 2 of the roadies or whoever a ride from downtown Starbucks to somewhere..I think it was to their hotel - at the Radisson
