2004 election results - average state IQ comparison

Started by Ushgarak2 pages

The Economist's retraction is stronger than I imagined:

"Last week we published a list that purported to show the IQs of states voting for George Bush and Al Gore in 2000. Alas, we were the victim of a hoax: no such data exists."

Indeed, apparently this chart was originally compiled for the 2000 election... and apparently it actually isn't so after all.

So that's that, I guess.

That's what the Link I posted on the other pages says....that this information is just a hoax.

Well, at first I thought they had only said "Can't be verified," which would have left things in dispute (because outwardly I cannot not find any reason to believe your link more than the other, aside from the absurdly low scores on the first), but now, judging by how the Economist hastily ran away, I absolutely agree with you, yes... sorry for duplicating you.

Still, as I say, Kerry DID get the graduate vote. If you did a straight IQ-vote analysis you probably would get a Kerry bias, but to simplify it like that is a disservice.

For example, one of these political studies says that the higher your IQ is, the more you earn on average. Yet, the analysis of the 2004 election shows the richer you are, the more likely you are to vote Bush.

It's very complicated and needs a lot of work to show any significant result.

Well I find this amusing. My IQ is 118 and I didnt vote for either one of them. 😛

JP for president 😊

We'll split that between them then...

😂 You apologized for duping me, but you came up with that yourself....i just regurgitated a google search onto the page.

and you're right, there is no reason to believe anything in the link I posted, I honestly didn't even read it all, i just saw how they refuted the claim and felt like throwing it up here.

Agree, is quite certain that big business support Bush. Certain individuals confused this with "dictatoship" but is not anywhere near that! The fact is that this nation is very capitalistic and what they want is less resctrition for the growing businesses. The observation here is that there is sucha a thing as a rich business Democrat so is very likely that they too get influenced by George's ideas on growing businesses. Well, at least that's how I see it.

Yeah, it totally supports my theory that noone can possibly vote or bush unless of course their main qualm with kerry is he is a "homosexual lover" they're 28 and cant divide 9 by 3 and get paid $6.50 an hour at a dead end job. Oh yes - my theories ruuule!

It's easier to notice you've kept more of your paycheck when it's only 6.50 an hour.

😂
