The "scroll thingy" looks normal on my computer. Is your CPU maxed out?

Switch off smooth scrolling - Tools->Preferences->Advanced then uncheck smooth scrolling.

You need to install Java.

Because of some major changes, you need to get the updated theme: https://update.mozilla.org/themes/

Ok now the thing is when I install java it slows my computer down horribly when it runs and causes freezes. IS this because I am still using JVM from microsoft?

Uninstall the Microsoft version and use the Sun version.
