*Dare sat in her room, crying and in pain. Why was this happening to her? Why? What was this pain? The answers were out of her reach. As the tears (blood tears cause of her change in powers and appearance) streamed down her face flash backs of her tortured childhood flashed in her head. Dare couldn't bear it. She screamed.*
"F-Follen? I'm n-not sure. I just started to have fl-" *Dare's expression changed into a grimace as fear crept into her silver eyes. She gasped and clung to Follen, fresh tears making their way down her cheeks.* "Please.. please help me... please." *Gasped Dare as she again began to cry out in agony.*
*Dare held onto him and tried to shut out the pain and slowly it stopped. Dare was still crying as she pulled away from him.* "It's gone for now.. I don't know what's happening to me. This isn't the first time this has happened. But the last time it happened was when my mother was murdered... I.. I thought I had it under control.."
"I don't know..." *Dare walked into the bathroom in her room and washed off the blood and sat down next to Follen on her bed. She gently rested her head on his shoulder.* "It's been forever since I've seen you.. Dark told me that you had left shortly after I did. I'm sorry I left without telling you where or what I was doing. I was really worried when I came back and you weren't here."
In Dare's Head
*Dare stands in the middle of her mind and appears to be two years old and is crying tears of blood. The landscape begins to shift and warp. It takes the shape of one of her oldest and worst memories.*
14 Years Ago at an Unknown Location
“Come on, Drake. We’ll be late!” Yelled a two year old Dare at her twin brother.
“Okay, I’m coming.” Drake ran after his sister, a smile plastered to his face. Suddenly he stopped. “Dare who’s that?” Drake pointed to a man in the shadow of an alley. The man stepped out of the shadows and started to walk in the direction they had just been heading.
“Let’s see what he’s up to Drake.” Dare slowly started to follow the man, but Drake grabbed her arm.
“Wait! What if he’s a criminal or something?”
“Oh don’t be silly Drake. Come on!” Dare ran after the man keeping to the shadows, with Drake only a few steps behind her. The man walked out into the town plaza and over to the temple. He climbed the steps and disappeared inside. Dare and Drake followed.
The man was kneeling down in front of the alter and appeared to be praying. Until the Priestess of the temple came over to him and asked him why he was there. The man smirked and stood up. He turned to face her; from a holster concealed in his clothing he pulled out a gun. He said; “I’m here to kill you darling.”
The gun went off and blood splattered everywhere. Dare screamed. This couldn’t be happening; she ran over to the woman on the floor and fell to her knees, crying. The man laughed evilly and kicked Dare away from the woman.
“I never expected to find more vermin here. I guess today is my lucky day.”
Dare looked at him; hate burning in her eyes. “My mother is not vermin! And neither am I!” Dare’s eyes began to glow and the wind picked up around her. “You’re the vermin! And you’re going to die!”
“Dare wait, don’t kill him! It’s not right!” Drake tried to restrain her, but failed.
“Get away from me Drake! I can handle this myself!” Dare made a few motions with her hands and disappeared.
“Heh. Seems like your sister abandoned you boy. I’ll kill you and then, after I’m done, I’ll track her down and kill her too.” Dare reappeared above the man’s head and rammed into it, knocking him into the stone floor.
“Who says I abandoned him?!” Dare flipped up and came down on his head again with a sickening crunch. Blood seeped away from the man and covered the floor; while Dare hovered above him watching. Drake crawled over to the man and checked his heartbeat. He was still alive, but he wasn’t going to tell Dare.
Slowly Dare came down and landed next to Drake, she was crying. She couldn’t believe what she had done.
*Dare returns to her present self and falls to the ground, crying.* "This can't be happening not again! Please not again!"
