That is what some denominations teach...what scripture actually says is that 666 is the number of man...

The 777 and 888, are not mentioned in scripture. This was also invented by the church. If you look it up in a concordance, you will not find it. The Bible is full of symbolisms and many numbers repeat themselves. There are also 12's, 40's, 30's....and of course 7's...some things happened on the eighth day....so that is what the church talks about it being a "New Beginning."..Paul and others met on the eighth day. I think Pentecost was also on the 8th day..But it was also a Sabbath which always fell on the 8th day...same as feast of First Fruits or something like that. The 8th day is really the first day of the week which is Sunday....and the Roman church used the 8th day as a way of convincing the people to leave the 7th day, which God instituted as "His Day."..Changing the 4th commandment. Making the 8th day the "Lord Day."....But Jesus said the He was Lord of the Sabbath, the 7th day...So really that would be the lords day...the 7th not the 8th, but then...blah..blah...blah..........and so on.

666 is number of man.

666 is the number of the beast( at least according to religious ones), man is 5

But it says "It is a number of a man"....Its all probably symbolic anyway.

This was interesting also in the NT.....It was historical...it was Nero.

666 being taught as Nero is in the "Reformed Christian church." They also believe that Jesus will not come back to earth until the earth is taken by the Christians first...using the verse "The gates of Hell will not prevail against them."...No secret Rapture to save anyone...
They believe most of the Bible is Historical and the events have already happened....not futuristic....Though they hold tight to the teachings of Calvin and the Reformers...And teach heavily on Johnathan Edwards view of Hell...taking from his writings "In the Hands of an angry God."

I think also they are of the view of predestination....sprinkling of infants to bring them into the covenant...So if they die, they wont burn in hell.
