It used to be higher. I think that e-bay realized that that bid wasn't serious, or they pulled it again and he had to start over, or something.

there was actually an article of htis in the orange county register. ebay pulled it and brought it back. i belive it was up to 75,000 dollars before the pull out.

This is truly stupid. The fact that the bidding has gone so high is a sign of how stupid people really are. This is completely retarded. Its even funnier to do a search on ebay.com for "virgin mary cheese sandwich" lol some funny auctions going now that have spinned off of this. Had me laughing for hours.

That pretty much summarize this auction. I could think of better ways to spend that money. Maybe buy thousands of grilled cheese sandwiches and given to the bums on skid row. That makes better sense.

It was on the news earlier this week, somebody HAS bought (it did tell the amount he paid for it, but i cant remember the exact figure, it was around the range of $10'000 or something like that).

He claims that it's now a piece of pop culture.
