Scorpion was an exceptionally good fighter who intentionally got himself stung by a mystical scorpion. After getting stung, he gained some new abilities, one being a rope attached to a spear that could be launched from the palm of his hand. He started working for Shang Tsung. He met another powerful warrior called Sub-Zero. They became rivals and Scorpion loathed him for his superior fighting skills. Scorpion began getting jealous and challenged Sub-Zero to a battle. Sub-Zero froze Scorpion during the battle and killed him. While in Hell, Scorpion's rage and animosity towards Sub-Zero attracted the attention of demons. They decided to resurrect Scorpion as a spectre. Scorpion asked them for a suit identical to Sub-Zeros except for the color. He picked yellow which is a cowardly color to mock Sub-Zero for what he thought was a cowardly victory. When Scorpion returned to the living realm he noticed that he had gained new abilities. He was now immortal and could teleport. Now he seeks only one thing in life, to kill Sub-Zero. Time and time again, Sub-Zero gives him the slip, but Scorpion will not give up until he'd dead. Sub-Zero is always looking behind his back because he knows that somewhere Scorpion is lurking in the shadows, waiting for just the right moment to kill him...by any means necessary.
