Easter

Easter:
A time of eating, resting, relaxing, and getting candy πŸ™‚
Do you know the real reason for Easter?
Jesus Christ, Son of God, died and rose again...that is why we celebrate Easter......
In the hopes of avoiding preaching at you all.....I open this to any ques.....you can also PM me if you'd like
Have a nice day πŸ˜„

i dont celebrate easter...
so if it has to do with jesus and everything where does the bunny come in

ok maybe I should do some research.....
I'm actually not sure if Christians started celebrating a pagan (non Christian) hopliday or if nonChristians turned easter.....non religious.

I believe it is the first....Christians took the nonchristian's holiday and made it religious.

The story of the easter bunny....well that's up there with santa clause.....which I also don't know the origins of.....I'll check back

so what religion are you?

i think they just made up santa...and the little bunny too.
something to make the kids shut up

πŸ˜‚
I am a Christian.......protestant to be precise, but I dislike making tight distinctions..... to much to worry about to get bogged down in class arguments!

I have to go eat...then I have to babysit, but I'll prob check back in around 9 tonight πŸ™‚

so much to do...so little time

What?! The bunny isn't real??!

Say it isn't so!

oh sorry all those who believe...

dont worry...they are real... πŸ˜‰

Phew!

What about the tooth fairy?

Pah! Easter sucks! The one commercial holiday that I hate. Chocolate makes me fat and costs me money to give poeple eggs! Bad all round

Well, no seasons greeting to you then πŸ™„

She'll eat the chocolate anyway.

father christmas is the patron saint of children. he went round first giving money to those children who were poor and then moved onto presents at christmas times. he was german i think!

Actually he is also the patron saint of sailors, travellors, children, prisoners and both the countries of greece and Russia.

The giving of presents at christmas is supposed to stem from the legend of him saving a girl from being sold into prostitution by giving her a dowry out of his own fortune of gold. Dowries also mysteriously appeared for her two sisters.

I don't think he was german. Apparently he was born in Patara which is 100 miles west of Myra, on the Gulf of Makri, due east of Rhodes. So that is now Turkey!

I'm not sure but wasn't easter originally a day where Jews celebrated something and as usual the christians took it over?

Easters great, any holiday which means I have time off college to catch up is good in my book.

Yes, thank GOD for Easter! πŸ˜‰
