How will the death penalty help her, help the world. Had she got help in the 1st place, this would have never taken place...DHS, was investigating her for 9 months, surely they shld have come up w/something, saying she is mentally off. Not saying this happened in this case, cuz I don't know, but In alot of DHS cases, they don't care, they don't investigate properly, they do as little as they can to get by and thats it. YES, I do know this personally. I've called DHS on people before, actually they were called on about the same falmily by 3 diff people, and they did NOTHING. They are just like cops, they are there when ya don't want them, and NOT there when you need them.

I do see what you are saying, but what if she is psychotic? Does she still deserve to die. I think what she done is unspeakable, I still can't get over anyone doing that to someone, unless they are truly insane.

Bardock, don't you know what an insane person is? A person, with intelligence, emotions, a person, d@mn, don't people have value to you? She may not ever be a "productive member of society," but I don't value people based on productivity alone, neither does our society, at least nominally. We don't put to death those who are too ill to contribute.
__Hopefully she'll improve given treatment and the right environment, and she'll have a fair or better quality of life.

__I suspect the woman was sane who recently killed a pregnant woman and stole the baby. I haven't heard that she has a history of psychosis. The goal and the means of acheiving it seem to have been arrived at quite rationally (though anti-socially).

Well are you implying a sane person has no iontellegence or emotions.
So what are you saying it would be ok to kill her if she was sane but since she is not she shall live. What the **** kind oif an arguement is that. You should be judged cy what you have done and what your deed has caused, not by your state of mind.
And no people have a value to you. But they can lose that value by killing their Baby.
And its not about the money. But you are saying she may have the chance to impropve while the other woman may not. I mean that is totally unfair, what makes an insane person better then a sane one ?

A sane person performs an evil act knowing it is evil (harms others). A psychotic performs an act that harms others without knowing/understanding that it does. If the psychotic can be returned to an involvement with our reality, she may make her decisions for good outcomes.
__A woman who did the same act while sane has demonstrated that she will not make socially acceptable decisions while perceiving our society and its values as her "reality"- her basic, true environment.
__The insane woman has not demonstrated this.
__As long as someone has not disregarded the laws and values of our society while perceiving it as reality, he or she hasn't willfully thrown away her membership in our society, and still deserves the protection of our society.

and...fever red ALOT of peeps plead the insanity plea (cry wolf) cuz thats the only way they have a chance of getting out of the crime they have done. Thats the major reason people don't believe in the insanity plea, cuz it's been abused.
