i av been watching the wrestling wwe for a long time.........and after all my years of seeing the build up to matches i think rey will win the world title...as much as i didnt think or want him to win it, i av got used to the idea of him being champion before he even has it......i thought randy would have this one, due to the mania line up i thought cena would retain his title and randy would win to give a balance of one good guy and one bad guy holding the main titles... but after watching the build up shows randy has had too much success at getting to both rey and kurt, plus kurt has got better of both of them too... which leaves rey lookin like the under dog.. but i dont see him in that way.. not after all thats gone on in recent weeks... i av got this gut feeling that rey will be champion as ovious as it is... all in all i stand with my opinion that kurt will not leave maina world champ..as for cena vs triple H i hope cena wins because this would show that cena can match with the best and will prove to me that he is as good as former champions....
I agree and disagree I feel that like you said Randy has been successful in getting in both of Rey and Kurts head and that Kurt has proven that he can make both Randy and Rey tap so what can Rey do? I feel that at WrestleMania Rey will put up a valiant effort and give a hell of a show but I think Orton will in the end walk out with the championship (I hope Im wrong though) honestly Im pulling for Kurt to retain but thats less of a chance than Rey actually winning the championship. But I do say IF Rey wins the title I seriously doubt he will hold it for long but it would definately be one of the best if not most emotional moments in WrestleMania history if Rey can pull it off.
And as far a Triple H winning the championship Im just not ready for him to be champion again. Although I think he is the best heel choice for champion at the moment I really want someone else to hold the championship at this rate in a couple of years Triple H will still be in the main event spot competing for his 20th World Championship reign. And although Triple H is a good heel once he wins the title he gets lazy and gives the same old crappy speech about how he's the best and no one can beat him and with the help of the McMahons or the G.M or a current stable he's in, he always slips out of defending the title right away and when he does he delivers a good match but somehow always wins due to some cheap screwjob which involves most of the time outside interferance of the use if his sledge but anyway I predict that Cena will keep the title but i hope im right.
i agree about HHH, you are so right.. i am lookin forward to mania, but if HHH does win it then it back in same circle as before, i like it when he is building his way back up there but if you look back who as he beaten to get back in title contension????????????? 2 men?? thats it.. he should'nt have this title shot it should be rvd.. both bigshow n HHH were counted out.. and his victory over both rvd and big show was just another cheap victory.. he struggled a few years back when he had a match against tajiri..so what is goin on???? plus i would rather see randy win at mania than HHH.. he has won too many titles when you look at his career who were his main opponents.. the rock and stone cold.. if he keeps winning titles, you will look at the records and it will show HHH held more than the rock n stone cold.. which to me dosent make sense.. i rate both rock and austin better than HHH but the records will show different..
Wrestlemania was pretty decent this year, considering the card as a whole was pretty poor, they did well considering what they had to work with.
The highlights being the Money in the bank ladder match, the hardcore match between foley and Edge, the match between McMahon and Shawn Micheals, and the Main event, HHH vs Cena. I was also pretty impressed with the Mickey James vs Trish Stratus match, Mickey James impressed be, aside from the botch of the finishing move, which seemed to be Trish's fault, but no matter. Still one of the better womens matches that I've seen. Edge impressed me by taking a good bump into the tacks and doing the spear into the flaming table, thus getting a big facefull of flame. It was nice to see someone besides Foley take a back full of tacks. It was also impressive to see Mark Henry take a really good tombstone, usually big guys take really shitty ones.
Rey winning really wasn't much of a surprise, I knew it would be him or Angle, wanting Angle, I recognized that Rey was more probable simply because of the whole "I'm fighting for Eddie" thing.
Rey isn't the first lightweight to win either the world championship either, Eddie did, and he's a pretty small guy. It's hardly the "heavyweight" championship anymore. They should just take that word out of the description.
The crowd was funny during this PPV. Booing Cena and cheering for Triple H almost entirely, and booing Stratus and cheering for Mickey James, it was funny to hear the announcers try and justify and explain it.
Anyway, good PPV, some more surprises woulda been nice though.
but on that point if you think about it........... bob backlund and hbk arent heavyweight either.. rey his not that tall but he is a speedy wrestler like hbk has bin, so that does make him look less suitable... but i do think they should do two things.. 1.. take the word (heavyweight) out of the title name.. 2.. why the hell have they got a cruiserweight if anyone can win the big one get rid of it they dont need it, or even better they should rename it????
so rey has title.. to be honest thinkin about it, if the ratings dont drop he will keep that title and it will be interesting to see him in his defensive matches....

i can justify the crowd booing Cena.... he's boring, and had the title way too long for someone who is rubbish.
they were probably cheering for Mickey James because she's one of the only recent female wrestlers to come through that is both interesting and can wrestle... not just an excuse for greased up cleavage.
Rey doesnt deserve the title, woo he was mates with Eddie Guerrero, so what? why isnt Chavo champion?... neither he nor rey deserve to be champion, for one because Rey is a cruiserweight.
got alot more respect for Edge now though... i used to hate him, now i just don't like him haha.
WrestleMania was ok it was better than I thought it would have been. The only thing I didnt like was that it was so straightforward not many twist and turns like it should have been.
I had to say I was pretty impressed with a few of the matches like Money in the Bank that was a good match and to my surprise Lashley and Finlay held thier own with the ladders and I didnt think they could. I kinda wanted Matt Hardy to win but I realized that its going to be easier to give RVD that push to championship material than it would be for anyone else in the match (except Flair but he's like what 90?)
I had to say the Boogeyman vs Sharmell and Booker T pure comedy. I love Sharmell cause she is just so funny and dramatic. I dont know if being over dramatic is her character or if she just does it but she's funny. And when Boogeyman kissed her. Her reaction alone was enough to make me fall out laughing. I didnt like the Beniot vs JBL match it was good at first but then it got somewhat i dont want to say boring but after like the first six minutes i realized JBL was going to win.
Mickie James and Trish was pretty good I could just she the pyscho in Mickie during the whole match and like someone said finally there's another diva who can actually wrestle (lets face it Im not gay or anything but Mickie is not pretty at all.) And I think she proved that she's better than Trish to be honest cause Trish did good but she started to choke up towards the end.
Shawn Micheals and Vince McMahon I just knew he would win. I was glad to see Shawn beat the hell out of Vince. But throughout the whole match I was thinking there was going to be some sort of surprise and that someone from HBK's past would interfere but when that didnt happen I was somewhat disappointed.
The whole Rey thing I dont know I mean I like him but just about everybody in the WWE is bigger than him so I'm sure he'll have some miracle title defenses but I cant happen like that every week cause I know I'll lose interest.
And with the whole Cena and Triple H thing I guess Im the only one glad he retained. Normally I wouldnt have a problem but I cant stand Triple H being champion to be honest HE"S NOT THAT GOOD. and he really isnt that interesting his history repeats itself all the time. He wins the title forms a high powered alliance they rule the show that they are on like a dictatorship and six months later either one of his allies betrays him and takes the belt or the hero who's been battling him non stop for the last months finally takes the title and the cycle starts all over again.
I've been hearing many people complain about the talent in WWE and I feel how can you discover someone's true talent if you keep letting the same old person win title after title after title. Triple H has been in the forefront way too long now. If anything they should be letting HBK step back up I mean how may times has he held the title what 4 times. Same thing with Kane he's more interesting than Triple and he's only held it once so I really think that they need to just give Triple H a really long hiatus and maybe when he comes back I'll be ready for him.
There's nothing wrong with cleavage, Df02. Let's not say things we can't take back.
Look at this years WM and look at past WMs. The card was packed full of excellent possible matches and those that weren't, were at least for pure entertainment (the female matches). That said, the Trish/Mickie match was surprisingly close to a wrestling match. I found myself actually enjoying it a bit.
The first match was a Tag Team Championship match involving two teams who aren't even traditionally tag teams in the real sense. Makeshift. One team was consisting of two people who deserve better but have been simply ruined, the other was two shit idiots.
RVD finally got what he deserved but we all know he isn't going to have the title for a long time even if he does win it, nor will he be anything more than a spot machine due to WWE's overly safe policy.
Rey winning was a disgrace, no other words for it.
As for Cena. I recognise now that- whilst I hate Triple H's backstage power- he was better as champ purely because heels make better champs. That way, there's more hype for the face to triumph. If it's a face, you don't want him to lose. Yet after a while, IE: Cena, there's nowhere to go. Vince probably let HHH put over ANOTHER guy cleanly just to show "Hey look! I'll push a face that nobody likes anymore, just to show how I'm the boss." It seems to have become more about "My company, I can do what I want" rather than pleasing the fans (although fans are hard to please).
I think the way Cena won was lame. STF (or STFU, as it's known)? The move that wrestlers have been using for years as a time waster/breath catcher in matches? Come on.
Boogeyman looked way too stiff and rusty, hopefully he'll get better. That match (and in general the PPV) was just too lacklustre. It started, then finished with like...nothing in it.
The best match was either HBK/McMahon or Foley/Edge. I'll say that for McMahon, he puts over well. Even if it was a squash win with a predictable end, it was enjoyable. Foley needs to start winning a bit, he's put enough guys over. To add, I have increased respect for Edge. A guy who deserved to be champ a long time ago at his best and most charismatic, finally won the title then had to job to Cena. What does he do? Instead of turning diva and moaning, he went to rebuild his character and work back to it.
Rey though, the man should be feuding with Billy Kidman. Not winning the title Bill Goldberg once owned.
They also need to let feuds build a lot more. Back in the 80s and 90s there were 4-5 PPVs per year and feuds built up for sometimes 6-12 months at a time, with the PPV as the massive ending. Hogan feuded with Savage for about a year before they hooked up at Mania.
WM 22 was the generic metal band of WWE PPVs. You could do worse, but you could do so much better.

Pretty solid analisys, though I don't see Foley winning much anymore, seeing as he's not around enough to take advantage of winning, plus he doesn't need too, he's already as respected and over and you can get. Putting over up and coming wrestlers is about the only reasonable thing he can do right now, unless he comes back full time, or semi full time, like the Undertaker. Like I said to my friend after Foley lost last night "Well, there you go, Foley is now the highest caliber of jobber".
The segment leading up to the boogeyman/booker match was gold, one of the best parts of the night, really funny. But I don't really understand what they're trying to do with the Boogeyman character. He's not getting into any real storylines, just random fueds that are obviously done just to give his character credibility for the next random fued.
About Rey, don't worry, he won't have the title for long, this is just another way of paying tribute to Eddie, he'll be back to the midcard soon enough.
I guess I'm the only guy left that likes Cena, well, me and my friend. I think the guy puts on entertaining matches and I really like the energy and enthusiasm he has. I don't personally understand why he gets so much shit, he's no worse, and in fact, he's far better then most of the roster. I mean, The Rock and Hogan both have pretty bad in ring ability, but the same people giving Cena shit for "being a bad wrestler" loved them. I think it's just the in thing to hate the guy, which is supported by the obviously over the top booing he recieves, it just doesn't sound sincere for the most part. Like a lot of the crowd is just simply doing it as an inside joke or because they know it's kind of the "in" thing. I know there is a good number of people who sincerely dislike the guy, but I'd like to think most of these people are smart enough to know that booing someone won't hurt them, the most hurtful reaction you can give a wrestler is absolute silence.
I really agree about the fueds needing to be built up more, that's been a problem for some time. They do PPV's with less and less time in between, I think it's 3 weeks now, a few years ago it was 5 weeks, they feel rushed now, and like you said, don't have the payoff they used too. This can also be blamed on the piss poor writing staff they have, who seem to have no idea how to develop a fued properly with tension and excitement. As of now, the fueds seem like clockwork, like they're following a set pattern.
you cant really have a year feud like hogan savage because back then there wern't a ppv every month, there were only about 4 ppv's a year.. summerslam, surviver series, royal rumble and wrestlemania...
ok everyone agrees that rey should'nt have title but i have been saying this since he won the rumble.. so i have got used to him winning it before he did... as for cena well i wanted him to win simple as that.. what happened to the true good guys??? i can only think of one person at this moment who was a good guy through out his wwf career and that was ultimate warrior............they cant do that anymore because fans get bored of them?????? why?? i think cena is settling well with the title, he beat HHH so that has confirmed he is the future...
i think fans will all want batista back and they will follow him to the title so it be interesting how they use his come back do draw the fans in..

and AC... cleavage is good, of course... but whats with the grease ups backstage? i mean i'd wanna see it being done, but is it really necessary or just so the people sat right at the back can tell it's either a womens match going on or just Chris Masters in the ring.
i really dont care who becomes champion, just please god get rid of John Cena, he's rubbish and boring... could even get Edge back up there, and everyone knows i dont really like Edge.
Rey Mysterio isnt champion material, he's liked because he's an obvious underdog that's all, and the Eddie thing built him up.
EDIT: i started typing this and went and watched tv.. so finished after all the other posts. so ill expand on the Cena thing.
I don't think his character and ability is strong enough to warrant the extensive title reign he's had, with the poorness of the roster atm he's definately a title contender, but clearly the crowd and i think the title needs to change hands
by the way boogieman cant wrestle thats why he dont get long matches i dont know if they training him to be a future wrestler or just using him to make fast money????
theres only a number of bad guys he can go through, the only person i see ending him is taker...
dont think rey will lose the title that soon unless the sales drop or fans interest is lost in his title reign..??? we shall see what happens on smackdown..
by the way for everyone who likes stonecold and dont like cena... if you watch how cena is acting he reminds me of austin but he has his own style of doing things... he aint scared, he stood in ring with HHH and his fav weapon (sledgehammer in hand).. so what else do you want from him??? he's gave you blood sweat and tears... plus lifting big show up... he deserves some respect guys come on 🙄
oh, and Cruiserweights need more push and airtime/consideration.
Supercrazy, Psychosis, Paul London and Billy Kidman (where the hell has he gone?) are all incredible and more entertaining than all of the other wrestlers on the roster imo...
Also, there needs to be better tag teams, need to go back to the times of Edge and Christian, The Hardy Boyz and the Dudleys... that was incredible, and you were garuanteed quality matches every time.

you're talking as if it's real, he stood in the ring with HHH because he was told to it doesnt make me like him any more or less.
i never really was a Stone Cold fan either btw.

I always thought Trish was really pretty, more so when I met her in person, though I didn't look at her face much. However, I didn't really find myself attracted to her till recently.
As for Mickie James, she's got a nice face. Really good body though, really good. If a little bit muscley.

True. I don't see the need of them, to quote Peter Griffin, being "All shiiiny wid oil." Not complaining, but they can look good either way. Especially Trish.
To add to what Streekz said; I was just going to say how Cena has become like a second Austin without all the hype and talent.
People say that The Rock and Austin lack the ability of a Benoit or an Angle, true. However, if the only moves they ever did were their finishers, they'd still drive the crowd absolutely nuts. Like Foley said, Lucha Libre stars can do all the fancy tricks they want, but it'll never get as loud a reaction as Taker diving over the ropes. Back in the Austin/McMahon feud days I literally could never miss a PPV. I simply had to watch so I could find out how bad McMahon was gonna try to screw Austin, how Austin would get out of it etc. Now...different story.
Also, you can't say Cena deserves more just for being able to lift the Big Show. He's very strong and he was a great performer, but it's got a bit stale.
I was there live when he first gave Big Show the F.U at WM 20, it was insane, but back then he was also very entertaining. Brock Lesnar was when he arrived, but then he got lazy and started feuding with shitty Rey Mysterio.
The Undertaker is quite clearly the best there will ever be. Honourable mention to Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart and Jake Roberts. From WWE anyway.
-AC
I know it aint real but they go out there to entertain the fans, the undertaker has been told he would win this match and that match so if you commenting on cena standing in ring then same can be said bout when austin ran down to ring and stunnered everyone in sight and many more moments in the history of wwe...
i have my opinions and thats what i am stating..
taker has been great throughout...
