Cocteau Twins

I had the entire musical contents of my computer on random play last night, and the first song played was Thinner The Air, and suddenly all these memories came flooding back to me. I'd totally forgotten about this band for like 3 years, so I stuck the Head Over Heels and Treasure albums onto my ipod and I've been listening to them all day.

I really can't remember how or when I got into them, but their stuff still sounds as amazingly beautiful as it did all those years ago. Lorelei and Donimo remain my favorite songs. Strange listening to them now though, because I can hear how much they've influenced some of my favorite bands of today. Amelia sounds almost exactly like a Lacuna Coil song (without the big guitar riffs and male vocals). I'm so glad I rediscovered them, I feel I can appreciate them so much more now then when I was younger.

So, who likes?

yeah I remember them, they had a song I liked around 1984 The Spangle maker, rememeber I kind of liked a similare group called This Mortal Coil......both bands were cool acts

the This Mortal Coil album "It`ll End In Tears" they cover a song by Tim Buckley (father of Jeff) called "Song To The Siren" this song is credited by the Cocteau Twins ( Liz Fraser and Robin Guthrie) it is a haunting piece so if you like Cocteau try out this This Mortal Coil song cause it is more or less performed by Cocteau Twin. If you cant find it pm me and I mail it to you

Yes I have that album on vinyl, along with Filigree And Shadow 🙂

I'm pretty sure I stole albums from both bands off my mom, actually.

ohh ,I still remember working with my home work having music on in the background. Always stoped what I was doing just listened to CW whenever they were on........
