So, kool...have you checked out 'Diamonds On The Inside'? That's another good album. 'Amen Omen', 'With My Own Two Hands', 'When She Believes' are great. Plus, he did a duet with Jack Johnson of '...Two Hands' on the Curious George soundtrack; it's good, too.
Yeah i got that album, When she believes is beautiful. He has a new album coming out soon, i heard it advertised on the radio yesterday:
😮💨
I just got his new album, 'Two Sides Of The Gun'. I've had a few listens and my first impression is that it's a really excellent album. As the name suggests, it's a split album on 2 CDs. The first CD is full of cool, mellow, melancholy songs; 'Morning Yearning', 'Waiting For You' and 'More Than Sorry' are the stand-outs so far. Then, the second CD is a return to the rockin' roots vibe of 'Guilty & Consequence'. There are some great tracks, but my favorite by far is 'Better Way'. It's got some Eastern jangles going on in there mixed with a great chorus and a rockin' beat.
Anyone else diggin' dis?
I must say that I liked this abum a lot when I first played it, but I like it more now. The first CD has so many great songs, but 'More Than Sorry' and 'Reason To Mourn' are really, really beautiful. The second CD is also really good, but - 'Glory & Consequence excluded - I always feel Ben is at his best when he's acoustic and calm.
'Welcome To The Cruel World' is an incredible album, but my favorite recording that he's put out is definitely 'Live From Mars'. Admittedly, it could be considered a greatest hits record, but the way each song connects to the preceeding one marks it out as something else. My favorite song will always be 'Glory & Consequence'; I love the guitar riff on that.
The new album is great. I liked 'Diamonds On The Inside' too, but 'Two Sides Of The Gun' is much better. Personally, I like the slower CD the best.
Not sure how long this has been out for but it sounds awesome:
