Anyone planning to sue McDonalds for their obesity is out of luck...

The House of Representatives has passed a bill banning lawsuits against fast-food companies blaming them for Americans and their health problems. "'Food manufacturers and sellers should not be held liable for injury because of a person's consumption of legal, unadulterated food and a person's weight gain or obesity,' the White House said in a statement." When I saw one of these cases, I just laughed. It's like saying I got in a car accident because I was driving on a road in California, so California is responsible for my injury.

The fast-food chains never stuffed the junk down anyones throat, though. The tobacco-companies never forced anyone to smoke either. Last i heard 75 % of the US population is fat, nearly 50 % is obese (!). It's THE biggest health-threat in the US. Some legal beagle might've forced the fast-food (or is that fat-food) restaurants to change their adds. "Warning: Eating this may make you obese and sick".

Changing their food culture would be a start.

Doesn't this stem from the New York lawsuit against McDonalds? I didn't read the link because i didn't feel like it. But i read that 2 young teen girls like 13 & 15 are grotesquely over weight (like 220 lbs and 250 lbs) and they are blaming McDonalds for it.

Their listed regular diet consists of

Breakfast:
An Egg McMuffin
A Sausage McMuffin
Orange Juice
And Hash Brown wedge

Lunch:
Big Mac Value Meal - Super Sized

Dinner:
Either eat at home with parents...
Or Double Quarter Pounder Value Meal - Super Sized

And this was their REGULAR, DAILY eating habit. No wonder their we Gi-normous cows...

There are far too many Mc Donalds resturants in America. These places target kids with the Happy Meals and the Jungle gyms. Parents should just not allowed their kids to eat Mc Donalds all the time. I'm not saying Mc Donalds food is bad, but too much of it IS really bad!

there to convenient, and easy to use, some parents dont have time to cook so they just grab a big mac for their kids

I'M NOT! none of my friends are, well maybe a couple. but other contries think that ALL americans are like 100 lbs over wieght, it's just liek calling all europeans smelly. not all of them are.

I'm American too, buddy, and I can call our country fat all I want. I didn't call you fat, but much of it is.

well, i dont see to many fat people. and the ones i do see most are nerds or foreign/transfer kids
