i got a question, please help

There is a movie i saw a long time ago and i would love to know the name of it but i don't remember that much about it. There's a person and for some reason he/she collect's all the book's of a certain author and when he/she put's all the book's together the cover's make a map. He/she goes to the place on the map and there's a huge castle type building and he/she can not leave the town. Thats all i remember please can somebody, anybody tell me the title. Thank's

It didn't have Macaulay Culkin in it, but thank's for having a guess. It's like a stephen king film or a dean koontz film but it's not there's, it's that kind of style if you know what i mean.

well there's a similar plot line in "9th gate" where a single page from 9 different books open the 9th gate.
