EDIT: other thread is "speculation"
Good On Ya, Mate!
He fits in the ship just fine. The canopy is domed. Nobody complained about Anakin fitting in the ship in the pics from inside the cockpit, and he's bigger than Obi-Wan. As far as the ship itself......They are wanting to show how the Clone Wars has shaped the galaxy and ship production, etc......it's a trilogy tie-in. Get it, TIE-in. I'm here all week.
Also while I'm at it. The background. You have no idea what the scenery is on Utapau, and this shot can't tell you, because it's a close up of Obi and his droid. The background is out of focus. It's meant to be out of focus.
why did GL have to bring in new ones for this movie anyways, i mean its only four years after the second, they shouldve just stuck with the old one thee was nothing wrong with that one.
ROTJ wasn't that long after ANH/TESB, we still saw new Rebel and Imperial fighters. It's about adding something you haven't seen before- it makes things more interesting. We all want to see TIE Fighter predecessors, and that's what the new Eta-2 obviously is. We might see some of the previous Delta-7 fighters as well. Then of course there's the X-Wing predecessor ARC 170s, which I like very much.
And there probably was something wrong with the old one in that it wasn't really designed for warfare, it's just a zippy little fighter for the Jedi to get around in (though I would much prefer if they used shuttles).
I'm hoping that Palpatine gives Anakin Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator from Episode I to use. I liked that ship.
