Well, Gambit's powers somehow made him immune to the time stop and he simply amped New Son with all power he had; making him disoriented enough to be killed by the sword of falling statue.
Then Remy jumped back into 616 while that Earth was blowing the hell up.

He was joking. Mostly about how it was dumb as hell that 616 Gambit won that fight.

Like how Havok and Cykes powers didn't.....or is that old news?

What about Xtinction Agenda.
Scott and Havok blew the crap out of each other and only their clothes disintegrated.
But then again Havok beat Vulcan briefly before Vulcan got the upper hand.

What your said is true in this particular instance - Scott and Alex.
but it isn't the rule.

Cable&Stryfe - clones, but by no means immune to each other
Vulcan clearly can be affected/can affect his brothers
Karma killed her brother with virtually the same power as hers
Cassanda Nova and Xavier are anything but immune to each other
etc etc etc
