Heck I supply the DQ books to people who want to give them a go.

I have a question, I'm thinking about writing a DQ fanfic...
Its set in Modern Day, so basically Deltora with our technology.
Its following the clique line "History Repeats Itself"

So, its gonna be three teens... I'm thinking of making the modernized Heir, a girl. Cause I think a girl's reaction on finding out they are the heir to a royal family is much more humorous then a boys. (Eg Princess Diaries).

I'm just unsure on how to place the plot. Should it be the gems again?
Or something else....
All I want is the heir not knowing his/her identity...

Whatever I do for this, I'm putting it on this thread....

Well i'm editing the origional seris a bit, adding a few new characters, changing the ending a bit too, then starting a new fanfic series where they have to travell to a distant land and help defend it from the shadow lord as the vents his anger on said distant land.

Now to help you, well does the shadowlord still use magic? If so it's have to be some magical thing to aid them, maybe not the gems, enchanted weapons? As for not know about being the heir it could be like ballumn and the masked ones, a releation was cast out and forgot their heratage.

Hows this for some characters:

Amelie(Ami): Age: 16
Status- Heir of Deltora(not known as yet)
Description- shoulder length black hair, green eyes, medium build, resonably athletic (Tom-Boy)
Normally wearing faded jeans and a coloured t-shirt.
Personality: A bit of a rebal, has a sense justice....(add more later)

Luke: Age 16-17
Status- The Best Friend
Description- Darkish brown hair, brown eyes.... tall, also athletic.
Normally wears a tracksuit.
Personality: Optimist

Samantha(Sam): Age 16
Status- The Smart One
Description: crurly Fire-red hair, blue eyes, wears rectangluar glasses. Normally wears a ankle-length skirt and a blouse.
Personality- Intellegent, gets hyper over histroical items, occasionally brings up facts people don't want to know.

And the magical items can serve well with this combo of people Ami can have the bow and arrow. Luke the sword and Sam can have the staff... and shot magic missles at people.

Or somthing like that.
Just a brainstorm...

Ok sam could use magic missiles or even use fire magic, same as the hair, indicating some ancient tie's or destiny to the weapons.
Decent group each unique, strong leader would be a good trait for Ami, Sam would be the sensible one yes? and what about Luke recklesly selfless maybe or would that be more suited for Ami?
