Still makes sense, they have to go, gives her a reason to look for something to take him out. lol the history class bit will prove interesting, are the dragons exinct in your story or just hiding like before?
Okay this is continuing on straight from last time... Hope you like it!
I'll think I'll make the Dragons hidden.
Samantha of Tora, sat in her seat for history class. The bell for first period was about to go, and Amelie was still not in her seat.
“She’ll make it Sam, I know she will.” whispered Luke, glancing at Amelie’s empty seat.
Sam glanced at her watch.
She counted down to herself. “3…2…1…”
The door slammed open, as Amelie ran in and collapsed in her seat.
The bell rang.
“Right in the nick of time, Ami… any later and you would have detention for tardiness.”
“I don’t need you to tell me that to know, Sam.” panted Ami, and gasped for air. “Now don’t talk to me… I just ran about 3 blocks at maximum speed.”
The door opened once again, as the teacher walked in.
“Hello class, good to see you all here ready to learn.” his eyes swept over Ami, who was swallowing great amounts of air. “…Well almost all of you. I’m sure all of you remember that our excursion to the Palace in Del is today. I want a report of your findings. Everyone please make your way to the bus in an orderly fashion.”
Ami glanced at Sam and Luke. “excursion?”
“Yeah, we handed in the permission slips weeks ago.”
“Guess I forgot.” Said Ami, with a sigh. “Stupid dream.”
“Dream?”
”Yeah, it was this freaky one. I’ve been watching to many movies based in the 1400’s.”
“What was it about?” asked Sam as they filed onto the bus.
“About some, lady… I don’t know, she was wearing some-sort of rich dress. There were two babies as well. She took one and hid him in a cart.”
“Weird.”
“I know.”
Ami stared out the window as the bus made its way out of the Plains Territory. She fingered the Opal pendant that hung around her neck that she received for her 16th birthday, just yesterday.
For some reason, she couldn't’t get her mind off that man she bumped into.
Just thinking about him made her shiver.
“You okay Ami?” asked Luke.
“Just thinking.”
“About?”
“I ran into someone on my 3 block sprint.”
“You klutz.”
“I can’t stop thinking about him.”
“Him?” asked Luke.
Ami smiled. “Not in that way, Luke…. I mean he was dressed completely in black. And most of his clothing covered his skin. Yet he didn’t appear to be fazed by the fact that he was wearing such heavy clothing in warm weather.”
“Mabye he’s Forgien?”
“Luke…”
“He could be from a very, very warm country and this is cool weather to him.”
Ami smiled again. “Always the optimist eh Luke? But yeah, I surpose your right. I still can’t shake this feeling though.”
“Its probally because its your first time in Del. I got the same nervous feeling when Dad brought me here when I was 8. I mean the Royal Family lives there, who wouldn’t be nervous.” Said Sam.
“I’m sure they are nice people.” said Luke.
“Nice person, Luke… King Thomas isn’t married nor has he any children…” said Sam.
“Oh right.”
The rest of the bus ride was uneventful, just normal teen conversations.
Eventually…..
“Welcome Class, to the city of Del.”
Ami looked out the window. A puzzled look appeared on her face.
She stared at the scenery, as the bus stopped.
“Ami, come on!” came Luke’s cry, as he dragged her off the bus.
Ami looked at him, slightly dazed.
“hmm?”
“Hurry up or we’ll loose the group.” Said Sam.
The three friends ran after the rest of their classmates, as they entered the Palace Gates.
Luke looked upward. “Woah… this place is big.”
“Ami, whats up with you?” asked Sam suddenly.
“Huh?”
“You’ve got this weirded out look on your face?”
“I feel as if I’ve been here before.”
“Right, whatever, come on they are going to take us to the Royal Library for a briefing on where we are aloud to go.” Said Sam, pulling Ami along after her. Ami looked at her friend, whos face was shinning with excitement. Wishing she could also feel exicted, and get rid off the cold sinking feeling growing in her stomach.

“…And remember children, you must not. I repeat not go into the older part of the palace, we have to make some repairs there….” Said the Head of The Palace Guards. “Always wear your name tags so we know you are not intruders in the palace.”
Ami sighed, as she placed on her name tag on her bright red t-shirt.
“Stay in your groups of three for your reports, and meet back at the library at 2pm.”
The students nodded and headed off with their assgined groups.
Sam was already pouring into the many books in the library and Luke was watching her.
The adults were talking amongst themselves.
A smile crept onto Ami’s face. She grabbed Sam and Luke and pulled them outside.
“Ami, what-“
“Lets go exploring.” She said.
“Now?” groaned Sam.
“Now, come on it’ll be fun.”
“And we’ll be able to see all the Historical Tapestries and Stuff.” Added Luke, clearly his thirst for adventure was as great as Ami’s.
Sam sighed. “I surpose it could be classed as free study.”
Ami smiled, and led the others off into the unknown quaters of the Palace of Del...

After about half and hour, of walking down the Hallways, Sam spoke up.
“Ami, where are we going?”
“Somewhere.” She replied.
Sam groaned. “You must have some idea?”
“Ever since we arrived this place has looked familiar…. But I don’t know why, as I’ve never been in Del.”
She stopped and gasped as she saw one of the portraits on the wall.
“What is it Ami?”
“Look….”
“Look at what?”
“Its her, the one from my dream. The woman, who had the baby.”
“Queen Aryll.” Said Sam. “Mother of King Orion. All his descendants have only ever had one child.”
“Whatever Ami…” said Luke. “Lets go this way…” he said pointing down an abandoned corridor.
“But that’s towards the older part of the palace the place that needs repairs or something.”
“Exactly.” He ran off in that direction.
“Luke!” cried Ami. She looked at Sam. “Come on we’d better follow him…”
As they ran after Luke, the Palace walls, became grayer with stone. Soon they were no-longer running on carpet.
They stopped to find Luke standing in an old room with shelves.
“This must be the old library.” Said Sam.
Luke was grinning madly. “Wasn’t that fun?”
“Luke, we could get in really big trouble for being here.” Exclaimed Sam.
“That’s the fun part.” Laughed Luke.
“If this is the old Library, then why is a book still here?” asked Ami.
“Huh?”
“Look, it was under the bookcase.”
She showed them a small blue book. Sam took it and blew the dust of the cover.
“The Belt of Deltora.” She read off the front. “Interesting.” She flicked through the book. “It’s a history book, an almost complete history about the Gems and the Making of the Belt of Deltora. Well a vague view on it anyway.” Her eyes widened. “Oh no…”
“What?” asked Luke and Ami in unison.
“It says here that the Belt will only shine for the True Heir to the Belt of Deltora.”
“Meaning?”
“It didn’t shine for King Thomas. So that must mean he’s-“
“Not the True Heir of Deltora…” concluded Ami.
Luke seized the book. “Gimme that…”
Sam started to hyperventilate. “This is not good, if the Belt isn’t on the next in line… then… then the Shadow Lord can invade and we’re all gonna die!!”
“We didn’t need to know that Sam.” Said Ami.
“You don’t seriously believe in this magic stuff do you?” asked Luke. “Load of rubbish if you ask me.”
“Luke!”
“Well it is, if the Belt didn’t shine 16 years ago, why didn’t the Shadow Lord invade then. I mean King Thomas doesn’t even wear it that often, cause the so call magic hasn’t taken effect in years.”
“That’s because he’s not the True Heir of Deltora!”
“Really?”
“It’s the only explanation. I mean everyone trusts him and everything. Your just being-“
Exactly what Luke was being, Luke never found out, as Sam gave a small squeak.
“What is it Sam?” asked Ami.
“What are you three doing in here?” came a ruff voice.
The trio turned and saw one of the Palace Guards staring down at them.
Ami stared at him. And did the only thing she could think of.
“RUN!” she yelled, and bolted in the other direction. Luke and Sam followed.
Ami stopped running after a while, and looked around her noticing she was in the newer part of the castle now.
Panting she looked for her friends. They were leaning against the wall opposite her.
“Think we lost him?” asked Sam.
Luke checked. “Yep. Man that was close.”
“You bet it was, come on lets get back to the library, we’ve only got about 5 minutes before we have to be back there.”
“Time sure flies when your having fun.” Said Luke.
“You call that FUN!!” exclaimed Sam.
Luke and Ami laughed. Forgetting their previous argument.
Ami had fallen asleep on the bus ride home.
She was awoken by Luke and Sam.
“Come on… sleepyhead we’ll walk you home.” Said Sam, kindly.
Ami trudged home with her friends.
It was dusk when they reached her house. The sunset was redder then usual.
Ami had her head bowed in exhaustion. ‘I really need to stop getting myself in situations that involve running all day’ she thought.
Ami didn’t look up, until she saw Sam gasp.
“Sam? Wha-“
Ami looked at her house, the door had been ripped off its hinges. Ami’s eyes widened. “MUM, DAD!” she called as she ran inside.
Luke and Sam followed her.
Ami looked around in the ruins. Crying out to her parents.
“Mum! Dad!” she cried again. “MUM! DAD! ANSWER ME!! MU-“ she cut off as she saw the horrible sight.
The two limp forms of her parents lay in a heap near the back-door as if they had tried to escape something horrible.
Ami fell to the floor and wept. She didn’t need to check. She knew they were dead.
Luke bent down and comforted her.
“Who would do this?” he asked to no-one.
Sam walked over to Laura and Paul. Purple bruises were forming on their necks.
They had been strangled.
Sam frowned, something wasn’t right.
“Guys, I think we should go.”
“Give her a minute.” Said Luke, softly.
Sam’s eyes widened, as she heard a floorboard creek. “Hide!” she said suddenly, and pushed Luke and Ami into the kitchen, closing the door, so it was open just a crack.
Ami almost gasped as she saw the man, she bumped into that morning walk into view.
Someone else was with him.
“I have completed my mission.” Said the man to the cloaked figure.
“I beg to differ.”
“Master-“
The figure picked up a photograph of Ami and her family. “They have a daughter you fool!” he shoved the picture in the face of the man, before throwing it at the wall, the glass shattered.
“Master… surely they would think it was a random murder. They would not think that the girl is-“
“Silence.” Yelled the figure. “You have failed me… but that can be easily corrected.” He paused. “After all how hard can it be to dispose of a little girl. Now go!”
The man left though the back door. And the shadowy figure vanished.
Ami sank to the ground.
“Ami…” asked Luke. “Are you alright?”
“I have to get out of the city.”
“What?”
“You heard them…. Whoever those creeps we’re want me dead. I can’t stay here.”
“Can’t we just call the Police?” asked Sam.
“They won’t listen.” Said Ami.
“But-“
“Those creeps weren’t normal. They were something far more sinister then just raving lunatics.”
Sam paused. “But you just can’t run. He’ll find you eventually.”
“What else can I do?”
“You could come with me to Tora…”
Ami blinked. “Why Tora?”
“Yeah We’ll be safe there, atleast for a couple of days.” Said Luke
“We?”
“Do you really think we’re gonna just let you go on the run from a murder by yourself do you? What kind of friends would we be if we did.”
Ami stared a moment. She sighed. “I guess I can’t change your mind.”
“Nope.” Chimed Sam and Luke.
Sam reached into her backpack. And pulled out a hooded jumper.
“Put this on. It’ll hide most of your appearance.”
“But I’ll cook in that.”
“Better then being spotted by that creepy guy in black.”
Ami knew Sam was right. Reluctantly she put the jumper on.
“Follow me…” said Sam. They ran out the front door and to the bus-stop.
“We’re gonna take a bus!?!!” exclaimed Ami.
“Do you have a better idea?” asked Sam.
Ami looked around, looking for a faster way. She spotted some muddlets grazing in a nearby field. They were a common sight around the edge of Hira.
Ami smirked and looked at Luke and Sam.
Sam stared at the Muddlets, as Ami walked towards them very slowly.
"Luke give me your left-over lunch" said Ami.
Luke pulled out a half-eaten sandwich, and an apple. He hated apples, but his parents always gave him one to take to school.
Ami coaxed three muddlets over to her.
Sam shook her head.
"No. No absolutely not! Its much safer taking the bus."
"But much faster of Muddlets."
"What if they bolt?"
"We're heading to Tora, not their homeland." reasoned Ami.
"No." repeated Sam.
~5 minutes Later~
"I can't believe you talked me into THIS!!!" screamed Sam, as her muddlet picked up speed to catch up with Ami and Luke's.
Ami laughed.
But suddenly stopped as the image of her parents motionless bodies came back into her minds eye.
Now, as she was riding swiftly towards the city of Tora. Her mind was clearer then it had been at the scene of the crime.
She had to find out who those two men were, why the killed her parents. And why they wanted her dead also.
She made a vow, that she would solve this mystery... Even if it killed her.
