Okay, next installment of the Modern DQ Fan Fic. ( I need a title, badly )
* * * *
In the dead of the night, 3 figures silently crept through Tora.
Sam was leading the way, they were going to the museum.
They needed weapons for defence. And the adults would never let them have the more modern ones.
Ami felt guilty.
“I can’t believe we are doing this!” she said softly, as they passed a display of the first Dragon Night.
“We have no choice…” said Sam. “we need protection, at least until we have a weapon of some-sort. Besides it’s just like you and your Dad’s credit card.
“Which legally belongs to me now… this is actual stealing.”
“Borrowing without permission.” Insisted Sam. “We’ll bring them back, besides you guys need to practice proper weaponry. And if that Ol shows up again, we’ll need more protection, then that knife Luke picked up. So who wants to be the swordsmen?”
Ami sighed.
“Come on Ami, you have to agree with the protection part, and practice.” Said Luke, taking the longsword. “It’ll be just like the stories, of Lief, Jasmine and Barda. Except none of us are descendants of Adin.”
Ami smiled weakly. “That’s true. And your right, about this journey, being as important as Lief’s. If we don’t do this, the Shadow Lord may conquer Deltora. And this time I doubt he’ll leave anyone alive. We have to do this.”
“That’s our girl.” Said Sam, she pulled out a bow, and quarterstaff. “I’ll take the staff….”
“Why?” asked Ami.
“Well, because you’re better at archery then me. Remember that Camp, when we did archery? You got the best score.”
Ami blushed. “Beginner's luck.”
“Still, it was better then me. I couldn’t even shot the arrow.” Said Sam.
Ami, took the bow, and quiver.
She glanced at her watch. “If we’re gonna leave we should do so soon. Before sun up.”
Luke nodded.
“Wait one moment….” She grabbed three cloaks.
“What are these?”
“Toran Made. Similar to the one that Lief wore on his adventures. It may help if the Shadow Lord starts the invasion.”
The other two took the cloaks. If they were going to stick out, with these old weapons, they may dress for the part.
“Besides, this way we can pretend to be some kids from a Medieval Fair, that got separated.”
“Who would believe that story, Sam?” said Luke.
“You’d be surprised. Come on…. I’ve already packed. Food enough for a few days at least. So we’d better get started. Already eaten?”
“Naturally.”
“Well let’s go.” Said Luke.
“Except for one problem.” Said Ami, staring behind them.
“What?”
“Your Mother.”
Both turned to find Lilia, staring at them, with a look of triumph on her face.
“Busted.”
“And where are you going with all this?” she asked, even though it was clear she had heard all the conversation.
“Dragon Night in Jaliad.” Invented Sam. “We are auditioning for a play, and we have to get in early.”
“Nice try, Samantha. But Dragon Night is hosted Rithmere this year.”
“Damn.”
“Geez Sam, even I knew that.” Said Luke.
Lilia looked at the 3 teenagers. “Come on, we’d better get your properly ready for your journey.”
“What?!”
“Samantha, you know as well as the next person, all Toran minds are linked. I know exactly why you are doing this. And I understand.”
“And here I was thinking I’d be grounded.”
“Oh don’t get me wrong, you’re still grounded for a month, when you get back. And you have to come back, Samantha.”
“Yes Mother.” She hugged her. “Now, whats wrong with our ensemble.”
Lilia smiled saddly. “The Shadow Lord has any spys, all who know Ami’s face. Infact… since you left Rithmere. 4 young girls with a Similar description have vanished.”
“Not good.” Said Ami in a small voice.
“So what do we do?” asked Luke.
“Follow me.” Said Lilia.
An hour later. Ami looked different. Her hair, was shorter, and reached just under her ears. It was the same style as most of the Toran boys. She was also wearing boy’s clothes.
“I’m throwing a modern day Joan of Arc.” She said shortly, looking at herself in the mirror.
“Just wear a loose t-shirt, and a cap and they won’t know the difference.”
“Where may I ask you got this idea?” asked Luke.
Lilia just smiled. “It doesn’t matter. As long as Ami looked like a boy from a distance, the air, and at first glance. She’ll be safe for the time-being. You just find the weapons.”
“What about the Heir?”
“We’ll be searching through the family tree, both in Tora and Del.” She paused, and led them out a secert tunnel. “Good Luck.”
The three friends, walked off, into the morning mist.

Okay, I've never been good a mini-quests, so what do you think could happen?
1. Meet Up with a Dragon
2. Attack from Shadow Lord's Spies
3. Stopping in a village of some-sort, and hearing rumors about invasion, from the shadow lord.
Any other suggestions are welcome. Otherwise which one do you guys like best.
