A viable answer? How about that the "Terminator" franchise is one of the most influential in movie history, with three entries already to its name and another one on the way? I mean, "POTC" has its own forum, and that just has one movie to its name {admittedly with a sequel on the way}, whilst Star Wars has its own bleeding section! I'll admit that the "Terminator" franchise isn't terribly high profile at the moment, but it's one that people are still talking about. I mean, our sub-forum has more posts than the Blade and Hulk "forums" put together!
Our intention is not that other forums be brought down to OUR level {such as the "Matrix" forum}, but the complete opposite in fact!
I do wish to point out, however, that I'm not disrespecting Cinemaddiction here. We're ALL a little frustrated that the "Terminator" franchise is going nowhere at the moment - but who knows what the future will bring? I'm sure that, one day, this forum will join the ranks of other, proper movie forums; it's only a matter of time. We should just have faith ...
Hulk is an intrigal part of the comic world, and while I don't think it deserves its own forum, that's something that you shoulddirect to Paola. Blade I moved to open because it's a trilogy, it was a hot commodity at the time of the 3rd movie's release, and has since died down. That, too, I would suggest looking into to have moved out. With "Fantastic Four" on the way, the seasonal movies are more or less disposable.
The viable answer I am looking for still hasn't surfaced. I've heard that there are people talking about, it I've heard an arguement about POTC having one, etc. POTC is hot, it features hot actors and actresses, and while the majority of the threads are still, consider the clientele of these forums. Kids. It's a popular kids movie.
I had mentioned before, where's the solid evidence that there will even BE a "T4" in 2006? There hasn't been an update on IMDB since late last year, there's no cast, I don't know of a script? There's no tangible evidence that would persuade ANYONE with ANY power to give the franchise any more of a bump than to a "More Movies" forum. "T3" was more or less a failure in the U.S. and "T4" is just sitting on a shelf, untouched? Be realistic.
Take a look at the threads you guys are participating in? The past 20 days, the Social thread has been the hottest of them all. There's a couple of Vs. threads, a couple of decent discussions, and then some fan-fic's which I SHOULD move, but I won't. The two forums are in the same predicament. What's more, where are all the people that were involved in your poll? Why aren't they right beside you fighting for the forums? It's because a lot of people either did it out of pity or just because they knew it wasn't going to HURT KMC, bu nobodies going to take ghost votes into account when it comes down to it. You need REAL SUPPORT.. and I don't mean the current contingent of 4 die hard Terminator fans, a wing, and a prayer. You've got my support, but that makes 5 people.
Like I said, it's going to take more than opinions and comparisons to get the forum anywhere. TFP, no offense, but you need to re-evaluate your personal approach to promoting the forums. You come off as REALLY bitter towards anyone with any opposition, failing to understand that not everyone wants what you do, nor sees your point. Present them in a little more professional manner, and try reasoning instead of guerilla tactics, and people will be a little more receptive, you know?
Now, you all know of the current promotion plans for the forum. We'll have to be patient, see where the "More Movies" forum takes us, and just go from there.

T4 has had updates as recently as February and it already has a new director signed up for it. Also, they wouldn't remove the T3 cast if they didn't have a script to base the reasoning of "wanting to use an older John Connor and Brewster" on. The last film was released in mid 2003 (less than 2 years ago) and the studio is still waiting for the moment to make an official announcement on the release date for T4 (likely release of 2006-2007). The upcoming film will be the 4th entry in the series just as HP's will be, which has its own forum. Now one might argue it does not have as many fans as HP, but it still has a substantial amount and most members here don't know that there is a Terminator forum or they just can't find it. Thus explaining the lack in participation here. And all this goes without mentioning the fact that the Terminator franchise has been one of the most influential in film history.
You claim that the social thread has been the " hottest in the past 20 days" when its actually been the "I Fear For T4.." thread and the "what's the best Terminator 1 2 or 3" thread. Now had the social thread actually been the hottest in the past 20 days it would not be entirely uncommon since "social threads" in other forums are most commonly the most posted in. Also many of the members who voted on the poll have since taking a short hiatus from KMC or have simply not been online very frequently. Although I can mention at least 9 of them who have participated most recently, NoFate007, alic88, me, vvvrulz, Ahnold, SkyNet 0.2, you, pr1983, and Red Superfly. NOT 5.
I don't think I have come on as quote "REALLY bitter" towards anyone with any opposition I have simply made it a fact where I stand and replied with my points to some of the other members points. Simple debates, discussions, and replies.
Sigh ... I guess we're just gonna have to accept the fact that the Terminator forum just isn't going to become a proper one anytime soon. BUT, with all the noise that we've been making of late, I have no doubt that it will happen one day ...
But please, guys; let's not resort to slagging each other off. While you may have some good points there, Cinemaddiction, I thought that your comments towards TFP were harsh, exaggerated, and uncalled for. We should all be in this together!
Let's put things into perspective. This campaign to better the Terminator forum started the day I left, over three months ago. When I came back, I discovered that we now have a moderator, and that a move to the "more movies" section is being considered ...
I'm going soon; imagine what things will be like when I hopefully return in June ...
Why more comparisons? Now it's Harry Potter? Harry Potter is an INTERNATIONAL PHENOMENON. Of course it's going to have it's own forum. I don't see "The Terminator" as one of the most influential movie franchises of all time, unless you mean to say it inspired other people to make movies, because there aren't many, if any at all, films like it that I can think of.
The last update on "T4" was March 26th, which almost solidified rumors that "T4" was going ahead with pre-production in the U.K., which more or less counts Arnold Schwarzenegger's involvement out. Not a good sign.
When I said the social thread was the hottest, it was a figure of speech. Furthurmore, you only support a case for their NOT to be a promotion by confirming that a thread based on people's FEARS of "T4" is the most frequented. How do you feel about that? And since you can account for 9 people, which would factually be 8 if we're going by the poll, because I initially voted against it, how do you account for the other 25 that voted in your favor?
Like I said, you guys are getting an initial promotion, thanks in small part to me, and you're apparently still not satisifed. Subsequently, you're driving me away with your behaviour and failure to understand that it's happening. You don't want that, so just be patient. I beg of you.

T2 redefined how we look at films, and introduced technology that we take for granted today. Terminator 2 is to CGI what The Matrix is to bullet time, but make no mistake-were it not for T2, The Matrix would've most likely never come to pass as well as many other films. The most important thing is that T4 is currently in production, Arnold's involvement is besides the point.

The "I Fear For T4..." is based on the current worries of some poeple concerning the future film. Most of which might eventually go away once there is further confirmation on the story and cast.
The 9 (or 8) mentioned members were not the only ones from the poll who had recently (or not long ago) posted in the forum. Besides that.....

How about trying to discuss a Robocop vs. The Terminator and see what people would of that as an idea for a movie. I mean if they can make a Freddy vs. Jason and AVP then there shouldn't be any reason why there won't a movie like this. Honestly though I thought that AVP could have been r rated. RVT if they even decide to make a movie out of it should be r rated
