Thsi Thread shall now post interesting Coaster news when there is some, due to the fact that I think this is a really good idea. What do you think?

They've just taken some letters out of Benson & Hedges, cute.

Drayton Manor is pretty crappy, I don't live that far away from it.

Go and moan at Edna about it then, before she goes off to uni again!

Is she STILL working there?

I remember her moaning about the place years ago.

I can't think of any reason why she is not. She met her boyfriend there.

What course is she doing now? I have a vague memory of her changing it at some point. 😕

Well, assuming she goes ahead with it- always a question mark- it would be Maths at Warwick. She might not bother though.

Thats it, I remember the maths thing now.

Why anyone would choose to do maths is beyond me. 😱

Um lets keep this ON TOPIC. (tho i can see how it got off....)

How many of you go to Alton Towers? cause this is interesting....

ATA Visitors hit out at Government's Thug Reward Scheme

The popular Alton Towers Almanac website has hit out at a new Government scheme to reward thugs with free trips to Alton Towers, in an attempt to keep them off the streets. Alton Towers is already by far the most troublesome park in the UK, even more so than Blackpool Pleasure Beach... On a trip to BPB we were greeted by families happily enjoying the rides throughout the day, whilst at Alton Towers everywhere you care to look you will find young teenagers in their tracksuits spitting, smoking, swearing, littering and causing trouble. An incident last year involving thugs at Alton Towers nearly cost a young girl the use of her eyes after a handful of coins were thrown at a Nemesis train traveling at nearly 60mph.

Former Coaster Force webmaster James Wearing says...

"...Thugs are already causing enough trouble in Alton Towers with vandalism and graffiti making the park look rather untidy and unprofessional. The last thing we now need is for convicted or recognised thugs to create even more problems."

Anybody Ever Went to La Ronde in Montreal? The PArk ON the Island? Well Not so long ago the Vampire (a mirror clone of BATMAN) Stop in the middle of the first corkscrew. One of the passenger's strap got "un clicked" and security systems aboard the Vampire Made the train stop, upside down, in the middle of the corkscrew. They were stuck like that for 2 hours. I know some people will saw that it is impossible for a train to stop like that, but it is. Braks on the wheels.

Also, This was further Back. The Wooden Dueling Coaster Called LE MONSTRE (The Monster) One of the Bars that goes over the legs got un locked and a Grand pa and His grand kid where holding on for dear life......

Fun stuff for thoes who are interested in Press releases:

Montréal, February 7, 2002 - La Ronde is taking centre stage in 2002, delivering a solid knockout punch by unveiling the most ambitious and sweeping capital expansion plans undertaken at La Ronde since 1967.

The 30 million CDN dollar development program is the largest single year investment in La Ronde since the 1980's. "With the exciting improvements planned for 2002, there will be more to enjoy than ever before-more thrills, more shows, more rides and more attractions" explained Kieran Burke, CEO of Six Flags, Inc.

The Vampire, an exhilarating high-tech suspended looping roller coaster and the star of the revitalization program's first phase, will be up and running as of this summer. It is the first major addition to the Montréal theme park in several years and a clear sign of La Ronde's revival. Once complete, the Vampire will be the first suspended coaster of its kind in Québec.

"This investment is just the beginning in terms of our plans to enhance Montréal's favorite playground" added Mr. Burke. "La Ronde is unique in the world due to its exceptional location, and our plans include ensuring that everyone who walks into the park grounds experiences an adventure that is entertaining and thrilling."

During the press conference, Mr. Burke specified that Phase I did not include La Ronde's current operating budget. Rather, it is part of the 90 million CDN dollar investment program announced in May 2001.

Six Flags acquired La Ronde, the most important theme park in Québec and an urban symbol of summer, last spring from the City of Montréal. The company plans on making it one of its flagship parks in terms of its modernization and development. This program includes new rides, shows, restaurants and facilities.

One of these exciting new rides is the Vampire, designed by Swiss firm Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M). "The Vampire will be the most striking ride at La Ronde next summer. It represents both a major attraction and a considerable investment for Montréal tourism," commented Mr. Burke. The roller coaster will extend over a kilometer (823 m) and reach a height of nearly 32 meters. With a speed of 80.5 km/hr, the Vampire will provide thrill seekers with a ride that does five full loops. At the rate of 1,400 riders per hour, the Vampire will defy the laws of gravity. B&M is a world-renowned firm specializing in the design and manufacturing of theme park rides.

"In addition to the new roller coaster, whose construction is already underway, Phase I includes other development and infrastructure work that will make the site even more attractive this summer" continued Mr. Burke.

One highly visible improvement at La Ronde this year will be the pristine new front entry plaza near the site offices and the entrance to the village located at the extreme eastern edge of the park. Decorative facades characteristic of Montréal architecture will embellish the public reception centers.

In fact, new buildings will be constructed and various facilities will be restored to the park's former grandeur, notably to ensure the public's comfort.

"At the end of our 5-year investment program," declared Mr. Pierre Bélanger, Marketing Director of La Ronde, "La Ronde will have become a world-class attraction worthy of an international destination such as Montréal. Already, we are feeling a favorable momentum. For example, last summer was one of La Ronde's best in five years."

Six Flags' revitalization program will preserve La Ronde's nature, which was inherited from Man and His World (Expo '67), and turn the theme park once again into an international tourist attraction for the entire family.

La Ronde is owned and operated by Six Flags, Inc., the world's largest regional theme park company with a total of 38 parks in North America, Europe and Latin America. Six Flags parks serve 40 of the 50 largest metropolitan areas in the United States. The parks annually host more than 50 million guests worldwide. Six Flags is a publicly held corporation with corporate offices in New York City and Oklahoma City. The Company's stock trades on the NYSE under the symbol: PKS. America Online Keyword: Six Flags.

Alton Towers Manager Brutally Attacked by Guest.

Hotel guests John Terrance Woolley, aged 39, and Catherine Diane Gibson, aged 36, of Watford, admitted attacking guest relations officer Glyn Harrison at the Alton Towers Splash Landings Hotel on June 21.

Mr. Harrison was punched 6 times in the face, then beat with a table leg which the guests smashed over Mr. Harrison's back.

The attack took place in front of more than 20 children and was said to have been caused in part by the lack of parking space at the hotel.

If I where myself, and I am, I would be scared to go to this place.
