I've seen April Fools Day, so is it pointless renting Cry Wolf now? I'm also thinking of making Lord of War a blind buy on dvd for me, worth it?

The two are VERY similar, and there are elements of "Scream" thrown in for good measure. Naturally, blind buys are just that, but if you value my opinion, it's rewatch value is NIL.

As for "Lord of War", to me, it seemed liked a 2 hour long opening narrative. You know, how someone is narrating a series of events, in chronological order. It's precisely that, stretched over 2 hours, but presented in conflicting fashions. First a dark comedy, then a drama, then an action element, back to a "make you think" drama again. The script was great, the message was clear, it was based on true events, but it was just too wishy-washy. Again, the killer was the narrative that ran THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE FILM.

Well, we recieved "Lord of War" and "Two For the Money", which I recommend, 2 weeks early for some reason. Otherwise, it's 5 days in advance.

I hate you droolio

King Kong (1933)

Superman II

Hide and Creep, really bad. I mistakenly expected something from it because the quote on the cover says, "Even better than Shaun of the Dead" - Kevin Smith's MoviePoopShoot.com. I read that as Kevin Smith himself saying that. Well, it was crap. There were a couple funny parts in it that had nothing to do with the story. But those didn't make the movie.

I saw that as well, pretty ****in' stupid if you axe me. There's another movie, "Feeding the Masses", and the quote says "We hold Feeding the Masses in higher regard than any of the Romero Dead films!". Naturally, this quote was taken from stoners who have obviously been paid to make such a stupid remark, or given a few bricks in compensation.

Anywho, watched "Dark Passage" with Bogart and Bacall, which was great, and tried to watch "Network", but it just never hooked me.

Rented:

To Have and Have Not (Another Bogie/Bacall flick)
All Souls Day (Pre-street)

The Maltese Falcon

The Man, pretty stupid. It was funny at times but the movie really was pointless. I found it particularly funny whenever Eugene Levy had gas though. That was mainly because of Sam Jackson's reaction though.

Batman Begins, and Fargo.

The last DVD I watched was " The Descent" which my brother rented. I found it okay, more disturbing than scary.

Pom Poko
Bullet Boy

Lord of War, great movie. I was really drawn in by the story of it. It also had a couple funny parts to lighten the mood a little.

Four Brothers, pretty good. The plot was simple but intriguing. There were a couple scenes I didn't agree with, felt were better left out, but overall it was pretty cool.

Ugh. "Lord of War", aka "The 2 Hour Long Opening Monologue". I hated the feature length narration, the inconsistant pace, and the fact it never really went anywhere.

Rented:
Hustle and Flow
Red Eye

Well, even Fight Club had a narrative throughout the entire movie. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it does.

Never went anywhere? How so?

Spoiler:
He was a powerful man in the business of illegal firearms, started a family, his family found out and made him quit, he was pulled back in, his brother was killed and he still continued, and finally he had the courts backing him up when Ethan Hawke had finally caught him.
I found it a very good movie.

But "Fight Club" was consistantly evolving into something you never expected, and it had a special gimmick. "Lord of War", seriously felt like one of those opening monologues where someone dictates what happened between this time and that time...just this opening monologue was 2 hours long. I didn't like that, coupled with the chronological order.
