Running Scared (2006) - It's the grittiest film I've seen since "The Devil's Rejects". Certainly over the top, but the solid story, the inventive cinematography, the well rounded acting, and the good pace made it really enjoyable..even if the violence was borderline sadistic, lol.
The opening scene, as well as the ice rink shootout would be worth the rental price alone. It reminded me somewhat of "True Romance" in spots. Some scenes left me feeling down right dirty. See it for yourselves.
Underworld:Evolution - One of the better sequels I've seen, that knows the meaning of the word. Picks up where the last movie ended, tied up loose ends, and had a story to tell. While said story was somewhat basic, and maybe even a little stretched, the action sequences and choreography were top notch. There was a real feeling of "cinema" to them. Lots of focused scenes, sweeping shots, and a lot of personal touches. Kind of hard to explain. Wasn't as good as the original, IMO, but still a very worthy sequel.
Underworld - Just watched it with Alison and my friend Jason to get them caught up.
