Hi everyone! I am fairly new here.

Checking out this thread I couldn't help but notice how many women here preface their posts with something like "I am so ugly" or "my ugly picture."

That's pretty sad. I guess it says something about what our media saturated, female objectifying cultures do to girls as they grow up. Maybe it especially makes sense that this occurs on a "movie" board...

But still, enough with the brainwashing, don't give in to it! Please have a little self confidence. Maybe some of you are just playing coy. Do you think about what it says about you when you post this, or do you just post something like that out of reflex? And then everyone says that you are pretty, or you have nice eyes and then you post a smilie about the compliment.

There are hundreds of pages here and I only looked through some, but everyone seems like nice, intelligent, and yes, beautiful people.

So come on, look inward and stop the self hate!
