title: its a big big big big world.

Off to Movie Trivia you go 😉

"Night of the Comet" (1984), starring Robert "Chakotay" Beltran.

I would suggest "City Slickers II", especially since the Western setting and the restaurant menu figure prominently into it, but since that was released in 1994, you couldn't have seen it in the mid-80's (unless you saw it in a crystal ball...).

"Scavenger Hunt" (1979) doesn't even come close, but I thought I'd mention it, since it's a great movie.

"Midnight Madness" (1980) is closer, though its page on the IMDb doesn't specifically mention any of the things you talked about. Also, it's set in modern times, though it takes place in and around Los Angeles.

Anyway, hope this helps. Oh, and Rogue Jedi, you're thinking of "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" (1963), which, although a brilliant treasure-hunt movie in California, isn't set in the old West, and doesn't involve restaurant menus, birds' nests or horses and carrots.

Movie title: Cannot get an answer anywhere else

Sometime between '94-'97 I saw a movie short on a cable station (Sundance channnel perhaps). The movie was shot entirely from a dogs eye perspective (and hence, was in black and white). It showed the dog playing with its owners, watching them interact, and a dream sequence where the owners romped through the woods on all fours with the dog. The ending was sad, with the dog having and unfortunate run-in with a car, and the owners crying faces above being the last thng the dog sees. Any help with finding the name of this movie would be MOST appreciated!!! Previous attempts at other sites have not been fruitful, with only one suggestion of "Frankenweenie" being offered, which I'm sure it wasn't. Again it was very short, maybe <20minutes.

I'm sorry, I can't help you there

There are several dog's-eye-view films out there, but I could only find one that was under 20 minutes, and that was after I went to the Sundance Channel's website:

http://www.sundancechannel.com/

This film, "Fidel", was made in 1999, so it's probably not the one you're looking for. It was the only one I could come up with, though, after searching for "dog", "dog perspective" and "dog's perspective". Maybe you could just e-mail them? This question was on their FAQ page (emphasis mine):

I saw fifteen minutes of this movie last month with this blond woman talking to this big tree that never answered any of her questions. What movie was that and when are you showing it again?
Excellent question. To find the film, you can search the Schedule if you have a vague notion of when it ran. You can search by keyword, or if you know the title, by title, or if you know the filmmaker or any of the cast, try searching by their name. If none of these help, you can e-mail us at [email protected]. We have a trained team of film scholars waiting to respond.

Good luck!

"The Rescue" 1988, North Korea not China

The only flood movie that comes to mind (other than The Poseidon Adventure) is the one with Christian Slater in it from 98 called Hard Rain. There's also a movie called Towering Inferno form the 70's about a building on fire. I've never seen it, but it's possible water is involved in the movie.

i was thinking it might be this movie called r.s.v.p

a good way to check up movies is on amazon but prob. u all know that

'70's Horror Movie Question

Here is a tough one (maybe). I saw a horror movie in the theater in the late 70's and the plot had something to do with a person mysteriously sitting in the window on the top floor of a building. At the end of the movie it is revealed that this person is there guarding the entrance to hell and the good person that finds this out then has to stay there for all eternity to guard the entrance or all of hell's nasties will get out into the world. Does anyone know the name of this movie? I know that it isn't a very well known title.

Thanks!

Sounds like "The Sentinel" (1977).

I need HELP with this movie.....

Okay this is what I DO remember of the movie.....

There is a guy and he goes back in time to prevent the murder of JFK, if I remember correctly he has to go back more than once. He also changes time some how because when the movie ends he either makes his brother or father not die when they are suppose to because they are still alive.... I think there is a girl in it as well...

It is not a recent movie... and it might have been a TV movie but it is driving me crazy.... PLEASE HELP!!!

Except for the Kennedy reference, it sounds a little like "Frequency" (2000), especially the bit about

Spoiler:
the guy's father coming back to life
.

It also sounds similar to two episodes of "Quantum Leap", in which Sam spends one episode as Lee Harvey Oswald, and another episode in which he is himself as a teenager, and he tries (among other things) to lengthen his father's life by trying to teach him to eat healthier. But I'm pretty sure that's not it, so let's forget I brought it up.

I'm almost positive it's an episode from one of these shows. Here are episode guides for each:

"The New Twilight Zone" (1985-88)

"Amazing Stories" (1985-87).

In fact, I was convinced that it's from the latter, but I've been unable to find the episode in question (then again, I only looked at a few episodes on that link; maybe you'll have better luck).

What I can remember of the show I saw (sometime in the mid-80's): the time traveller is a descendant of the Kennedy family, and has the same Boston accent (kinda sounds like he's doing a JFK impression at times). He also has a Kennedy half-dollar (ca. 1996) in his possession, which has been in his family for a century. He is sent back to film the assassination for the future archives, but at the last moment he shouts "Watch out Mr. President!" and saves JFK.

He is invited to join JFK on Air Force One later, and JFK (and Bobby?) see the half-dollar. The Secret Service also mention that they couldn't open the guy's camera; that it seems to be made of some space-aged steel or something. The time traveller explains that he changed history just so he wouldn't see his ancestor murdered. An aide then tells JFK that Russia has declared war on the USA.

The time traveller consults a little, talking electronic device (reminds me of "Siggy" from "Quantum Leap", actually), which tells him that there is only one way to avoid nuclear devastation; he has to (somehow) jump back in time to the point of assassination, except he is in JFK's spot, and he gets killed, while JFK, I guess, just goes into hiding or something.

Is that the same show you saw? I can almost identify the guy who played the time traveller. I thought he was the guy who played the suicidal dentist in the movie "M*A*S*H" (1970), but I don't think it's him (though he IS from Boston. Hmmm...).

Anyway, here is an IMDb list of people who have played JFK in movies and TV shows.

Finally, I found a movie that is probably too recent to be the one you're looking for, but here it is anyway: "Timequest" (2002)

I hope that helps.
